Beautiful! Quaint and sweet. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. Staff is wonderful and happy to explain the menu. Definitely a re-visit in our future. Thank you!

First time attending. Even after delaying one order, they made it right by adding dessert on the house. I'll be back.

Had the yemista, they were fair, they needed more cooking, the stuffed pepper was crunchy and not alot of filling. The hostess put us by a small table next to another couple, unfortunately the place was pretty empty and we asked for a different table so she moved us. Server had alittle bit of an attitude, my husband put his long coat on the chair next to him, she took it off and put it on his chair, we asked if we could leave it there until more people came, so she added another small table to ours. it makes you feel like what is the problem, there was only 2 or 3 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. It shows when things bother the server, after that she was pleasant. I won't go back, it was a long drive down there, the experience in the beginning was not good, the food was just ok, we had calamaria and they were excellent but the main course was definitly under cooked.

Cool view of the city! Cocktails interesting and yummy. Food was good. Bathrooms need major remodeling. Overall the experience was good, but in the competitive market, avli needs to up the game.

I will definitely be back to Avli's. The food is superb, the atmosphere is inviting, and I look forward to the nicer weather to eat outdoors with the view of the city. The waitstaff was attentive and they gave me a birthday treat as well.

It's a treat to be able to go to Avli. Living in the Racine area, unless we have other plans in the MKE, it's tough to make the drive. Service, food, ambiance, staff, all excellent. Only ding, the bloody mary. If you are not going to do it right, even with a Greek flair, don't do it. It was a waste. Tomato juice with 2 blue cheese stuffed olives. Boring. So many Greek options to enhance it.

The space is beautiful. No doubt. We had a reservation and although there were a few tables open by the widows (the view!), the host chose to seat us in the middle of the room. They were accommodating when we asked if we could sit by the windows. The server was good. The food, sadly was pretty average. The spicy dip and pita we tried was very good. The shrimp appetizer wrapped in phyllo was also pretty good but came on oddly the world's smallest plate (think tea saucer). Our entrees were both very average. I had the moussaka, where eggplant should have been the star of the show - and the one piece I found in my dish was really good, but the dish was mainly meat sauce. Very shepherds pie-like. Meh. My dining companion had the chicken slouvlaki which he had high hopes for - expecting it would be tender and juicy. Sadly, it did not meet his expectations. I think what was really disappointing was that my date was celebrating a birthday which I mentioned when making the reservation. Now, I certainly was not anticipating a Texas Roadhouse-style celebration, but a simple mention of it would have been welcome, if not expected. Bottom line - there are so many fantastic restaurants in MKE. Save your hard earned money and time for one of them.

Avli is located in Brewers Hill with a really nice view of the city. Restaurant felt very clean, nice decor. Our server, Brandy, was exceptional! We had brunch, our food was great.

We had a lovely birthday celebration. The food ranged from good to great with plenty of variety. There are still things I want to go back and try. Ambiance was light and bright, but loud until the crowd thinned. Or one particular table, maybe. The service was outstanding! Our server was very professional and warmed up as the rapport built. She was absolutely lovely! Everyone there was attentive but relaxed. Summer will be killer with the patios!

Drinks, apps, and atomosphre were outstanding. Lamb chops, chichen and moustaka were also very good. Will be going back!

Great place with excellent food and spirits. The place could use some sound reduction panels as it was difficult to have a conversation given how loud it was. Easy fix.

The Moussaka was good. The $25 Octopodi appetizer was burnt to the point where it was partially inedible. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp Souvlaki because she has a dairy allergy and that item was marked DF. On the drive home she was having an allergic reaction. I’m Greek so I was really excited about eating here. It was a very disappointing experience for the price.

This was my first time ever coming here and it was for my one year anniversary of being married. And we loved it. The service was super friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. I very much recommend doing the patio and reserving it at night to give it those nice spooky vibes.

Let me begin by saying that I have an onion allergy that makes it hard for me to eat at any restaurant, but my experience at Avli yesterday (9/7/25) was especially bad. The server was not particularly helpful -- quickly classifying my needs as a complete allium allergy when garlic is okay and fully cooked onions are not ideal but mostly safe. I was not given a chance to fully explain my needs.

We tried to order foods that were safe for me, but ultimately only two things that were ordered turned out to be safe. One of them, the fried calimari, arrived in a pool of optic yellow goo. I do not eat aiolis so only a couple of the pieces could be salvaged for me. What I did eat was mostly tasteless and quite greasy I tried to express an objection when the squid arrived but the plate was set down and the server left before I could object.

The red pepper and feta spread that was advertised to me as safe was mostly flavorless, unless you count salty as a flavor. The pita bread arrived covered in some mostly flavorless oil. Not pleasant.

My friends did order other dishes that were not safe for me, but they did not express much satisfaction with what was offered, saying they had eaten better fare at other Greek restaurants.

In the end, I left the restaurant feeling hungry and queasy all at the same time. I will not return. Life is too short, and restaurants are too expensive, to tolerate a bad experience like the one I had.

I really wanted to like this place. I’ve been wanting to eat here since it opened. Since it was our anniversary, I thought this would be the perfect spot to celebrate. I reserved a table for two prior. The place was beautifully decorated but filled/packed inside with barely any room to walk (other than the servers serving people) that’s how close the tables were to one another. I could hear the entire conversation of the people at the table next to me. The server could’ve been better, at first she was great. I thought it was gonna be a good start to the night but that was the only positive of the night, other than the A-gouri drink, that was a 10 out of 10. Sadly that was the only high rating I could give this place. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and my husband ordered the Shrimp Souvlaki for the appetizer we ordered Greek Graviera Fries. I thought the fries would be a little bit more special. They’re simply just fries with cheese shaved on top. The chicken was so hard/tough I tried my best with table manners, but I couldn’t even get the chicken off the skewer with a fork. I felt like a child, pulling the chicken with my fingers at the table.. I had to chew more than 20 times to get it down and wash it down with my lovely glass of water. The rice was hard, not even cooked. I almost choked on the rice as well. The shrimp was good, but it being shrimp. It was more easier to chew, however that as well was overcooked. The food was so dry I had to ask for lemon slices. Unfortunately, the only lemon slices provided were the ones behind the bar. My server was so busy she didn’t come to the table until we were ready for the bill. Not once did she come and ask how’s the food tasting or How is everything so far? sadly, this will be the last time I will come to this restaurant. The meal was expensive & my expectations were let down.
