Incredible experience. Service was wonderful. Food was immaculate. The value for the price was perfect for what I needed. If you’re cautious of spice then don’t get the spicy hot pot but if you can handle a mild amount of spice, definitely get the spicy hot pot. Parking is street parking so be sure to arrive early enough. Reservations are not required but encouraged. The all you can eat is the best bang for your buck. Overall 10 out of 10.

I visited backsteet bbq 10/7/25 with a few friends who have never been there. I hyped it up as I usually have a wonderful experience there, but this time was different. Our waitresses vibe was kinda off the minute she seated us, but I thought nothing of it at first. Now I will admit, we were a bit giggly and loud (as friends who haven’t seen each other in a long time can get) but I honestly get the vibe our waitresses didn’t like us from the beginning maybe ? After noticing she would barley come to our table, I decided to just watch the interactions she had with other tables. She was bubbly and smiling and bringing out things for other tables so fast, checking on them, asking if the needed anything else. Then she would finally get to our table after passing us up so much. This is the first time I’ve been to backstreet where I have ran out of broth in my hotpot, cause our waitress wasn’t worried about our table. At one point we wanted to get our first water refill, it took 15 minutes for her to acknowledge us, and another 5-7 minutes for us to actually receive the water refill. It just got to a point we didn’t wanna deal with her attitude anymore and gave up on ordering anything else. When it came time to check out, all of our receipt were listed incorrectly. It took 10 minutes for her to come back to us to get our receipts fixed. After we notified her of the error, she took all of receipts and we didn’t see her for another 10 minutes. When she finally came back, one of the people in our groups receipt was yet again wrong. So guess what. Another 6/7 minutes passed before she came back with the correct receipt for him. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes for a pen to sign the receipts and that was kind of my last straw. Like I said, I literally hyped this place up for my friends, just to receive the WORST service I have ever had here. I really hope Brianna was just having an off night, and isn’t just choosing what groups to give bad service to as that’s what it seemed like was happening.

The food was so good I forgot to take a before picture but here’s an after. The food comes super fast like I literally stood up to make my sauce and came back and saw all my food at my table. Madison was super friendly and super attentive with the tables being smaller she made sure to keep them clear. If I could give this 10 stars I would! I will fs be returning!!!

I’ve been to Backstreet twice now, and both visits were really enjoyable. The food is great, with a wide variety of options, and the sauce bar is excellent. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful.
One thing I wish they had—like some other Korean BBQ and hotpot places—is an iPad system where you can easily keep track of what you’ve ordered and what you still want to try. That would make the experience even smoother.
The wait staff, however, more than made up for it. They were attentive, friendly, and really on top of things both times we visited. The atmosphere is also a standout—the decor is modern and fun, with a really unique light feature in the center that gives off smoke, adding to the vibe. The music kept the energy high too, with all Korean pop songs, including some of the newer hits my daughter loved hearing.
Overall, Backstreet is a great spot for Korean BBQ in Milwaukee, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.

New favorite date spot! We went on a non-peak day for KBBQ dinner. Everything we ordered came out almost instantly. The sauce bar is amazing. Everything was fresh, reasonably priced, and delicious. It’s a fun experience that I’ve done in several major cities and glad there’s a cool new place in MKE. Will be back in the cooler months for hot pot.
The interior is beautifully decorated, and the staff is extremely attentive. I barely put in my order before the food was on the table. The variety for the hotpot and grill is excellent, I enjoyed every single item (and I tried most of the menu). Soju and Sapporo are very affordable. Wear sweatpants!
