They're the best! Gotta love any place that specializes in vegan and vegetarian stuff💕

Wonderful! The menu changes every day, but the regular items are just as good as they were 40 years ago. It has high quality ingredients and reasonable prices. My favorite restaurant outside of Paris!

The servers didn’t smile and didn’t greet us or even ask how we were doing midway. The turkey and Swiss sandwich had no Swiss on it, they forgot to bring the mayonnaise, they forgot the chili, the food was slightly warm. Oh yes, they didn’t even give us napkins either or at least I didn’t have a napkin. Also, you could tell the food was premade. It didn’t taste fresh to me. This was in the sit down experience, not at the takeout. That food looked great and it looked like it was very well-made.

First time eating here and I had a really good experience. Gluten free friendly menu, great service from our server Ryan. The grocery section is full of Gluten free options as well as prepared foods. What a great way to start my Sunday! Cheers

A nice place where you can order some Vegan options. I was not impressed with the plant basesd Reuben, but the tofu balsamic sandwich was good. I love that you can order beans as a side for some extra protein

The people who work there are lovely, but the quality of food is quite bad. 1) I’ve had a former employee tell me the health code violations there are numerous & 2) though I figured I’d give the grocery portion a chance while buying a postcard there, the two vegan frozen items I bought were considerably freezer-burnt:(

I absolutely love Beans and Barley, from their amazing dining room and incredible food service, to their shop and all the products it offers. One of my favorites is their perfume oils, and how they have multiple healthy food options for all kinds of dietary needs! Overall, Beans and Barley is one of my go-tos in Milwaukee and will definitely be coming back.

We had a great time here. We really enjoyed the food. The service was good too, and after that, we walked through the store area where they baked their own baked goods. It was really good, it was a good outing. Should check it out.

I spoke with the manager today and she was extremely rude on the phone.

The food was very good as usual. It was a bit of a slow day for the kitchen, but my company filled the void.

The last 3+ times I’ve eaten here, I’ve been disappointed. I ordered the vegetable stir fry last night and it was so full of celery and undercooked rice that I regretted ordering from here all together. Not sure what has happened but I’m tired of spending money here only to be let down.

I really love Beans & Barley for their food. it's one of my go-to spots whether I'm grabbing takeout or ordering on DoorDash. But I dined in yesterday with my partner, and unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great. The service was super slow, and it felt like our food had been sitting for a bit before it was brought to us, it came out warm-ish, not hot. The restaurant itself was also freezing, which made the whole thing a little uncomfortable.
Our server was okay. She forgot my partner’s smoothie (which she did take off the bill, thankfully), but we also never got waters. Not the end of the world, but kind of frustrating when you're sitting there waiting and thirsty. I’ll still come back because the food is solid, but I hope the dine-in experience improves.

Still overpriced but I have been dining and shopping here for over 35 years. Iconic place. The staff is usually weird, unengaging, dismissive, but the deli is great for takeout but prepare to pay a lot. The bakery is hit or miss, and not cheap. FYI take my advice and go during the last hour they're open because the deli and bakery items are half off! I really like their deli and their kitschy fun stuff in the store like candles, incense, non-toxic household cleaners, etc.
