Bronzeville Kitchen and Lounge

Yes, the food was tasty, and our server was friendly.but the kitchen was SLOW!!! We had a large party of 14 on a Tuesday at lunch, but the restaurant was nearly empty with only 5 other patrons (I counted). They brought out our orders one and two at a time with 10-15 minutes in between. It was really odd. I had heard the service was slow but I had high hopes for a weekday at 11:30am.

Food was good and prices are amazing but hiding that they add gratuity is crazy. Should be clearly posted somewhere and the waiters should say it when they tell you the balance

I gotta be real waitress never introduced her name, never checked came to check out table, had to re order since she never told us it was only brunch on Sunday AND took over an hour just to get the disappointing food. Wouldn't go back or refer this place to anyone.

Made a reservation for two for 7pm , arrived at 6:50, ordered jerk pasta and fried catfish with yellow rice. Didn't get food until 9:03 after threatening to leave. And they only brought her jerk pasta. At 9:17, they finally bring out my fired catfish with INSTANT MASHED POTATOES, claiming they ran out of yellow rice. Then had the audacity to charge $$114. Worst Valentine's Day Ever. Waitresses walking around looking like they hopped out of bed and came to work without brushing their hair. Extremely unprofessional. Tries to support Black Owned, but they need to do better!

The lamb chops were exceptional! The jerk chicken alfredo and fried lobster tail as well. The only aspect that didn't meet my expectations was the fried green tomatoes, which were seasoned perfectly but were slightly too thick and the wait time for the food. Nonetheless, I will certainly be returning.

Walked in today , no greeting hard to tell which side to go. Waiter looked at us come in didn’t say nothing, til the heavier set guy in plain clothes asked yall dining in, queuing the waitress to finally tell us we can seat ourselves, guy proceeds to instruct her to lead us to our table and give us menus, ordered our drinks, came back with drinks, asked if we were ready said we need a couple more minutes , didn’t come back to the table for 10+ minutes. We left before someone ever came back. Service is lack luster to say the least and the waitresses look like they can’t be bothered.

Called consistently during business hours, no answer. Full mailbox. Website says they take reservations but then a conflicting note appears when you click to reserve saying they aren’t accepting reservations. The one time someone finally answered after several attempts the impersonable lady on the other end immediately placed me on hold - indefinitely - until I finally hung up. These are the facts. Not the best start to quality customer service.

I was in search of some Fish & Gritz. Pulled up for brunch to this spot minutes from downtown. Food was hot and it didn’t take too long. I particularly didn’t like the sauce on gritz. I suggest getting on the side. The fish was a small portion considering it was fish and gritz. The fish was a 4/5 gritz 3/5 and toast and jam 5/5. I had bottomless Mimosas 5/5. Overall the restaurant was nice. I Sat at bar. Nay was very nice as well. I would definitely go back and try something else.

This lobster and grits was absolutely delicious. The grits were unbelievably smooth and creamy so soft they literally melt in your mouth. Perfectly seasoned, rich, and comforting with every bite.

The lobster was tender and flavorful, paired beautifully with the sauce and vegetables on top. Everything came together so well nothing overpowering, just balanced, soulful, and satisfying. Outstanding service!!!!!

I just visited Bronzeville for 1st time today. I was pleased with everything except the waitress customer service. I do not recall her name but she was wearing leopard pants and green sweatshirt. She didn't seem to want to ber there in which her attitude gave off. Had i known gratuity was already included, I would not have left a tip which now gave her an extra tip. Poor customer service warrants no tip. Unsure if will return.
