I placed an order 2 days prior to Christmas Eve for hot ham and rolls via their online ordering system. They cancelled at 4:30am the morning of via email. Super frustrating and scrambling for alternatives.I wish they would have let me know at least 24 hours in advance or shut down their ordering system.

Very good hard rolls. My dad went there to get them and decided to pick up hot ham as well for me. And damn it's good. Better than grebes!

Love the bakery and bread products ?Do not like radishes in mayo based potato salad. Nasty. Bring cash if purchase is under $10.00 service charge for using debit card under $10

One of the top bakeries in Milwaukee. Salads, cookies, breads, rolls, and desserts. Doughnuts are the best. Try to find a jelly doughnut with that much jelly elsewhere. Good luck.

Waited with my number patiently for the delicious pastry items (apple fritter!) and hot ham and assortment of rolls. Will be back to support this fantastic place.

Only giving 2 stars because someone made these ..but everything was dry and tasteless. Ordered a crawler , Boston creme, chocolate frosted and a cherry butter cookie ....which tasted neither like butter nor the cherry on top ..and a pecan finger . Every bit with the $5 I just wasted . Won't be eating here again.
We asked to purchase a half pound of ham and the staff literally yelled at us to say a full pound is the minimum. This was completely unprofessional and an unpleasant experience. Will never return.

Service was fine but chocolate cake donut was as dry as a bone. Threw it out. The picture on their website shows these beautiful fruit tarts....the girl said they don't have those. Hmm. Don't go here.

Allow me to set the record straight about Lakeside Bakery. First off, this place is AWESOME. They have fresh, cheap bakery every day that they're open, delicious cakes and cookies, deli salad options, hot ham and rolls, and full-size cakes! They also offer wedding cakes! People need to be more mindful that this is a small, local business, and a BAKERY nonetheless. When you go to a bakery, orders take time. That's just the way it is; staff have to arrange your donut choices in a box, they're constantly refilling their cases with the day's stock, they're shredding fresh ham for your Sunday brunch. Every time I'm in, there are only like five people working, and they aren't dragging their feet. They're kind, informative, and always willing to help. You take a number upon entry, and based on my experiences, it can take from 10 to 25 minutes for your turn to happen; that's JUST how it is at local businesses like this! If you don't have time to wait for delicious, local baked goods, Pick-n-Save is just down the road with their stale donuts and deli made without love. Personally, you can't beat the goods at Lakeside.Oh, and one more thing...I've worked in customer service jobs for over ten years...no staff member of a business wants to wait on someone who's on the phone. If your number is called, and you're in the middle of a phone call, for the love of all that is good, call your person back after your order and give the staff member your attention and respect. There are often dozens of individuals waiting for goods at Lakeside, the staff should not have to put up with customers who are distracted during their order. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

While hosting friends from Europe we wanted to treat them to classic Milwaukee hot ham and hard rolls for Sunday brunch. When I was a kid we walked up to Schultz's Deli a half block from my grandparents' house. Schultz's is long gone and we were in a different neighborhood, so Lakeside Bakery seemed like the place to go. With 15 or more people in line before they opened it was obvious that we made the right choice. The ham and rolls were just like I remembered from Schultz's in the 1950's. The ham was warm and tender. The rolls we crusty on the outside and soft on the inside with a perfect crumb. Our friends were able to experience a traditional Milwaukee Sunday lunch, and we were able to remember our childhood.
