Tried this place for Friday fish fry. Worst service of my life. Stood at the reservation desk for 15 minutes with my fiancé' before anyone came and sat us. Then waited 30 minutes for our server to come by for drink orders! Food was pretty good but there are lots of restaurants for fish fry that are as tasty, cheaper, and have better service. Not recommended.

We were a group of eight and everyone seemed to enjoy their dinners. In the group we tried the Trout Almondine (my personal favorite), Salmon, walleye, the rainbow trout and the trout house salad. The only non-seafood entry was the Ribeye was was good but not steakhouse good. We would definitely return for dinner.

This was such a fun find! The restaurant is part of the trout farm, so you can have dinner, and take home some really excellent treats (which we did). We had a smoked trout appetizer and a crab cake--the star was the home smoked trout--it was excellent. Had trout and salmon for dinner--both were excellent. Dessert was also very good. Nice wine list and great craft cocktails. They feature local ingredients in addition to the trout, which we really appreciate. Highly recommend--this was a hidden gem.

Wanted to have fresh fish for dinner and that you can't get much fresh than the trout here. Had the Trout Almondine. It was excellent. Cooked to perfection with good flavor. Green beans were fresh. Service was good by a smiling staff. Love coming here. Always a good experience.

This restaurant is just wonderful. Great food, excellent wait staff and a beautiful ride down country roads to get to their location. It is a must stop for anyone going through the area.

We had an early dinner that was wonderful!! The Old Fashioneds are the BEST!!! Our server was so attentive and nice. I had the trout and my husband had the walleye. Both entrees were excellent. Fresh, beautifully prepared fish. My trout was pan fried. Fresh vegetables and I had the potato pancakes. We would definitely come back for drinks and dinner!! The menu had many choices that looked wonderful.

We were so excited to visit The Trout House because we've had 2 wonderful meals there before. But, it was a complete train wreck. Our poor server must have been new and never trained properly. After we decided what we wanted to order we were told that 2 of the 4 items we wanted were not available. And, after my husband ordered his meal the server came back and told us he'd have to reorder because they were out of his meal, too. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and were served rock hard uncooked sprouts. Our server told us she would take them off the bill. We then asked her if they could just have them cooked some more and told us she'd have to check ? She then went back to the kitchen without the plate of sprouts. I asked her if she'd like to grab the plate and she said she'd need to ask first. Three minutes later she came back to get the plate, and returned 2 minutes later with a dish that still was not prepared correctly and hard to eat. Dinner came after a long 30 minute wait. My mom ordered mashed potatoes with her fish. She got potato pancakes. We informed our server that she asked for mashed and she just replied that they made a mistake. That was it! So, I asked if she could get mashed and she then informed us the kitchen was out of mashed potatoes. We were frustrated at this point and just ready to eat and leave The dining room was CRAZY loud and could use some noise-reducing window covers or something. It was close to impossible to hear each other speak. I do not think we will be coming back as the menu items are pricey and the meal was beyond frustrating and not at all relaxing. Some of our menu selections were good, but it was hard to enjoy them after such a frustrating experience.

This was an anniversary dinner and our first time at the Trout House. The service was outstanding. We had the brussel sprouts and crab cake appetizers, the trout almondine, the swordfish special and shared the Tiramisu. The food was outstanding; loved the brussel sprouts with bacon bits in a sweet glaze; trout perfectly prepared; swordfish moist. The restaurant was not overly crowded, but it's a big, high ceiling room and sound echos. There were two larger parties celebrating (as were we) so I would not call this quiet or intimate. But the decor is very nice; you can shop for all manner of smoked fish as you leave, and the drive through the countryside is also very nice. We will be back and will recommend this restaurant to others.

We had an inexperienced waitress who needed a lot more training before tending to customers. The trout was fantastic the fries were stale, the wine was great with a good selection. They most definitely need to find effective ways to absorb the sound. It was difficult to hear my wife next to me, even though it wasn't that crowded. Would definitely consider going back if we were in the area, as the value was fair.

Trout House is a favorite local eatery of ours. Dined more than 12 times recently. Food, especially the fresh fish, is always tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately took another couple for the Sunday brunch but no Sunday brunch anymore (even though website clearly lists the brunch menu). The wait staff was unapologetic and even rude. They also changed chefs again. Seems management needs to get its house in order.

I believe that the trout was the best tasting fish I have ever had. I love the healthy sustainable farming practices. The staff were accommodating and went out of their way to answer questions. I wish I lived closer so I could go there regularly.

Great food, service & ambiance. The 3 of us all had the Trout almondine & it was excellent, as usual. Nice wine selections too. Also I really like that you can make a reservation for Sat night.

Terrific menu- every dish we ordered was delicious! It's a great place for special occasions. We also love the store and stock up on seasoned fish each time we visit. It's worth your time to walk around the property and visit the public fishing pond to feed the fish or do a bit of fishing, especially if you have kids.

We were making a return visit at an early dinner hour & found the place nearly deserted. You know what they say about an empty restaurant...well, not to worry! Our server was very attentive & our food was delish! I loved the Braised Shortribs with Grits! (Recipe?) My husband enjoyed the pasta Bolognese & my friend's Trout Almondine was lovely. Special note that all my friend's special requests were met with no problem. Only negative was the Brussel sprouts app was more than a little tough. Old-Fashioned excellent, Berry Bash (?) lacked the spiciness I expected from the jalapeno simple syrup. Oh, and the place filled up! We were just super early! Yum!!

We totally enjoyed our visit to the Trout House. We all had trout in mind (of course) so we all ordered the Trout Almondine. It was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and professional - we liked her very much. We ordered dessert to share, only one dessert available though. It was a strawberry mousse sort of dessert, lovely presentation, but we all agreed it had an odd taste. Looked like a red-colored salt/sugar sprinkle on top, that we think provided the unusual taste.
