The owner is always there. The food is freshly cooked. If you looking for homemade southern food here is the best place I have ever been in the 30 years I’ve lived in Milwaukee they always have special events, these shows as well, and the prices are reasonable.

Pulled pork was the best I've had and the mac and cheese was amazing and tasted home made.My friend was pleased with his wings, noting the buffalo sauce had a little "something extra" that made it taste amazing and also noted the wings were big meaty and good.I can't recommend this place enough to scratch the soul food itch.

Set in a building with apartments and other food vendors as well as other commercial sites, it feels like a food court and college hangout. That is deceptive, though, when it comes to the food served at Coaches. This was our second time visiting and I actually forgot how good their food tastes.We got a 12 piece catfish special, which includes fries. Although these are smaller pieces, they are meaty and the coating is crunchy without being too heavy. I got mac and cheese, my touchstone for judging overall taste. Coaches is to-die-for good. It has a very unique flavor and I would be happy eating an entire pot of it.The sides are slightly smaller than other restaurants, but the price is commensurate.Parking: Not many spots nearby and lots of traffic.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp inside and there is supposed to be an elevator through another entrance south of the main one.

I had it for the first time yesterday, and to be honest, the greens and the yams taste like they are out of a can it made my stomach hurt. The fish and chicken is good dressing is a little salty spaghetti taste a little plain I’ve been eating soul food all my life and this is not it. Sorry.

I'm at jury duty and walked over and had a cheese burger and fries and it was delicious.
Way better than I expected. Normally, I get food from other places in the Eleven 25 food court here. But I was feeling something else today so gave the pulled pork sandwich a try.I'll say it was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've had. The pork was soft and you could taste the flavor along with some nice textures to it. The sauce was just the right amount. I don't like it when it's too much and looks like a sloppy joe. This one was more meat to sauce ratio. The sandwich was big. I thought it was going to be small but you can see in the picture it filled up the whole tray.The fries were okay. They did season it but could've used more.I will definitely recommend giving the sandwich a try and will be back for it. I've also had their chicken and it's pretty good.

Absolutely a hidden gem. This little restaurant has the most friendly and welcoming staff and some of the best food I've had in a long time.I certainly recommend the pork chops, Mac and Chees, with candied yams , and benignet for dessert.
