Went to this place for lunch. Place shouldn't be considered authentic Mexican. Food doesn't seem to be made fresh as it came out about 3 minutes after ordering. I ordered the steak and bean tacos but the steak didn't have flavor, the beans seen to be from a can or dehydrated. They won't let you in with any drinks including water, the drinks make sense but they don't have tap water so you are forced to buy bottled water. They add 18% to your tab for gratuity for a reason. Place was very dark and gave you a dirty impression. Seats were wabbling and tight. Overall not a good experience.

I would not go here...there are definitely better Mexican food than this place....I was being generous with the two stars....I don't drink so this strictly abt the food only....horrible...!! If you're considering trying this place DON'T....!!!!!!!

I haven't been to Conejitos for awhile...used to go there a few times a year. Bartender/waitress didn't understand much English, place was dirty, I was charged for a tostada that I never ordered, and got charged 18% for a service charge on top of my tip. I never came close to a $50 bill before this occasion. Too many really good Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee. The food here is just average. They lost us as customers...I won't be back.

This USED to be a place where the low income households in the neighborhood could go out and have a cheap meal, the previous owner insisted and it had it’s purpose, not anymore... all about the money now!!! (What’s with the “SERVICE CHARGE” Of 18%)!!!! then youse want a tip???!!! There’s surely suckers out there that will pay it!!! Not me!!! Double prices?!! Makes me want to go anywhere else and eat on a regular plate. Never again!!! Oh well….. (Not like the food is top notch or something!!!)

It used to be a great place to go, now the new owners have way too many rules, can't go to a restaurant with more than 6 people, only except cash, closest way too early... way to ruin a successful business!!!!

I was always a big supporter and regular customer at conejitos place I used to love conejitos I have had it rated 5 stars for many years but things have gone severely down hill rising prices of the food increase in Service charge and the thing that bothers me the most is that if you come in with another person they will always put it on the same tab and act like it's a huge deal when you want it separated onto 2 bills for these reasons I am lowering my review and have no longer visited this establishment for many months now and dont plan to return on top of that every time you dine in this establishment you are guaranteed to have some drunk fool causing problems.

This place has gone down hill! For food served on paper plates it used to be the highlight and staple of coming here. Now, they force you pay in cash, you can't sit on the dining area, they automatically enforce a 20% gratuity to your bill and the price is the same as if you were going to any other Mexican restaurant. Complete disappointment!!!!!
