Wow, Criollo is inside the 3rd St Market hall, northeast corner, near the BBQ restaurant. I wish I noticed this place earlier. The carnitas (pork) platter was amazing. Tender, great flavor, and a generous portion. Served with rice and beans. Really tasty option inside the Market Hall. I will be trying other menu options. The chicken looks awesome also.

Driest chicken I've ever had. Chicken was dry, rice was dry, black beans had no flavor. Must have gotten served day old food that just been sitting there.

First visit. Mexican/Peruvian/Puerto Rican cuisine. Ordered black beans, 1/2 chicken and Puerto Rican rice (rice with pigeon peas) beans were good, chicken was seasoned through and was juicy, if you like lots of flavor and seasoning this is for you. Rice was ok, good flavor but I later realized it has ham (this is how it’s authentically made though). Ordered sweet plantains as well those were delicious. Fast friendly service. Decent prices especially because it’s all seasoned well.

I ordered the Mexican style 1/2 chicken with breast meat. The wing meat is came with was okay, but all meat was lukewarm. And, the Brady meat was dry and bland. I didn't get any of the flavor from the marinade. Also, the black beans needed salt and were also very bland. I really wanted to love this place. They have a great menu.

Thought I would give this place a try... my bad. My first 2 choices were not available, so I settled for the flautas. They were awful. No flavor. Barely warm. Crunchy cold rice. Bland beans. All for $15. I asked for hot sauce... that was an extra charge... FOR HOT SAUCE. My friend got food there and his was worse than mine. He threw it away and got Chinese, which was fantastic. What an overpriced disappointment.

I had the weekend special: pozole verde. It was delicious! Perfect amount of hominy corn, chicken and broth with the perfect flavor and a slight kick of spice. Not too greasy and the price was on point (32oz for $10). Located in the 3rd st market hall which is a perfect place to gather with friends or family. Fun activities inside and lots of options to eat. I want to go back to try the grilled chicken. Plates are served well and easily shareable which is perfect so you save room for dessert from another stall.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options as most Latin cuisine is.
Kid-friendliness: Large plates to share. Rice and beans are almost always a hit with kids.

El pollo es ridículamente bueno!Don't sleep on Criollo!Food is spectacular. Service is outstanding.I've ordered from here 6x for our office and never an issue and always rave reviews. The only negative is that the house salsa roja is super hot. I love it but most gringos will melt.
