Doors open visitor. Wanted to do a flight, by 3:30 pm they were out of half of their products. Medium sized interior ringed by games, leading to an atmosphere not conducive to conversation. Didn't enjoy the outside entertainment so that not an option. Food menu mostly pizza, on way out asked a diner their opinion. Burned. Would consider giving them a return visit on a slow day outside only.

I keep seeing a common theme in the reviews of this place and wish I had seen them before we went. That theme is terrible customer service and bartenders that do not know how to make patrons feel welcome. We visited with our Pub-Pass and that seemed to be part of the problem. If you have a problem with giving out the beer on the pass, I don't know, maybe don't include your brewery in the pub-pass. It is ADVERTISING, bringing customers in to spend more money and a chance to wow them so they return. This Brewery has so much potential but the folks that work there are going to destroy it. We went to several other Brewery's on the Pass and spent plenty $$ there and actually will return to several of them that were awesome. One of the beers was pretty good (West Coast Ale) but others were not great. I hope the owners get a clue before it is too late.

We had our rehearsal dinner here, and it was fabulous! We are meat eaters, but we love the vegan pizzas so much that we didn’t hesitate to book Dead Bird. The pizza was delicious as always. The catering menu was new to us, but it was delicious and surpassed our expectations. The pasta salad and southwest salad from the catering menu were particularly good, and our guests were battling over the leftovers. :) The brewery let us bring in some meat options, gluten free options, and desserts so everyone was happy and got what they needed. Drinks were top notch as usual. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Consider Dead Bird for your next casual event!

Michelada Sunday at Dead Bird Brewing!
Nick, the brewmaster and owner created Dorado, a traditional Mexican Lager Cerveza with real tamale masa! A fresh beer is poured in a tulips glass top with vegan Bloody Mary mix i'm garnished with a Tajin coated lime. I paired my michilada with Stella Maui Monk pretzels. Sixteen taps, nice selection of beers , appetizers, and pizzas. Outdoor patio, large arcade inside, extremely friendly bartenders and Hammerschlagen!

Cool spot tucked away in a neighborhood area..
The space is fun. Love the arcade options.
Had a couple of the beer options and both were great. On point flavors, balanced, smooth. I'm a fan.
The help was the best part..super welcoming and friendly.

We were excited to try Dead Bird Brewing while in MKE for a bachelor party — a brewery with food, beer, and an arcade sounded perfect. Unfortunately, it fell short.

Ambiance & Staff
Despite the variety of beer, food, and pinball machines, the atmosphere lacked warmth. A great brewery starts with customer engagement, but our bartender didn’t greet us or build rapport — just took our order and moved on.

Beer
The Liz Wiz was decent, but the Lemonade Shandy was a miss — overly sour and stale-tasting. 2 of our guys couldn’t even finish their Shandy beer and they love beer.

Games
The arcade selection is solid, but the coin system is inconsistent (Pac-Man only takes bills), and the air hockey table was broken during our visit.

This place has potential — a few tweaks to service, drink quality, and game upkeep could make it great. Rooting for Dead Bird Brewing!

We want to support vegan/vegan friendly places. Had to check out Dead Bird Brewing and I'm glad we did. Tried a variety of beers over a plate of supper yummy vegan nachos. Staff were great to hang with. Had a great time.

We went for the pop-up smash burger event, only to find out that the smash burgers were plant based (which wasn’t clear on the advertisement). We’re avid meat eaters, but we have it a try, which was a BIG mistake. Aside from the poor advertising and quality of the burgers, the additional food we ordered (chips) were poor quality, small, and took nearly an hour to come out. Additionally, there was only one bartender working on a Saturday afternoon (7/5) which, coupled with poor customer service by him, extended the wait time and made the experience even worse. The bartender was extremely RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. He wouldn’t honor our pub pass to include one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic. We brought our two passes only for him to say the best he can do is buy one get one free. It said that NOWHERE on the passes, and when I went to go say something to try and remedy the situation, he completely ignored me and made it seem like we were a bother for being there as paying patrons. Not only that, but he was even more rude when our “food” was ready and I tried to go pick it up (I put “food” in parentheses because the food was a joke - they were a small portion of Costco chips sprinkled with seasoning for $6). Overall, this was the WORST experience we’ve had at any of the pub pass bars we’ve visited this year (actually the worst customer service and quality of food we’ve received at any bar in Wisconsin). This place is awful and we are definitely NOT returning.

UPDATE: while I am leaving the review above as my girlfriend and I had a poor experience, the owner reached out to me and rectified the situation. Although we will not be returning, I encourage others to give the place a try if vegan food is your thing (the superb response from management increased my review from one star to 3 stars).

Very nice brew pub tucked away in a residential neighborhood just north of downtown. Their restaurant is 100% vegan fare. Highly recommend the Sexy Chips as a snack and recommend all their beers!!!

Service and everything else about the location and interior were good. The beer, however, just wasn't good at all to the point my sister and I couldn't finish our flights.

Why is vegan beer so much better? Definitely recommend all the beers here, and compared to the cocktails. The soft pretzel was the best one I’d ever had

Annelisa Sokolies

We absolutely love this brewery.. we have never been to Milwaukee and not started our trip at Dead Bird! Great service, great beer, and fun games. The pretzel appetizer is to die for if you are hungry!
