Honestly, we booked our reservation in advance to secure a time slot. The place was hot / muggy - service was non existent - took 25 minutes to get drinks then with our food on the table still a hostess slid a $10 off our next “repair” visit & told us we had to leave due to the next reservations arrival. I was so embarrassed that I picked this spot for a date night. Totally different from when they first opened. Lesson learned
Good was surprisingly good! A little pricey but I'm sure we are paying for the experience. The boozy milkshake was fabulous. Very rich. We all shared it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Got our items quickly.
We enjoyed the Friday Fish Fry very much and who can beat a $5 Old Fashioned during happy hour? We loved the TV repair shop vibe and our waitress was very friendly. We were too full to try out the milkshakes, but we saw them and they looked delicious! Added bonus for us- it is only a few blocks away from the Uihlein Hall which also make it a perfect choice for us before a show.
The vibe was really cool! It was Wednesday night so they had 99 cent burgers. I wish I would have taken advantage of that. I bought a regular burger and it was like $13 and wasn't really any different than one I could have bought for 99 cents that night. Food was just standard, ok diner quality food, but this place was more known for it's vibe which was good. I was REALLY wanting a Spotted Cow too but they were out!
We had the best lunch ever! The burgers were delicious, onion rings phenomenal.Very clean establishment. Our server, Emma, paid every attention to our comfort and needs. A great experience, we'll be back for sure!!
It was a wonderful experience. My Wife figured out the Password and admitted to being puzzled. Thinking where is the restaurant? The food was spectacular my family couldn't have enjoyed it more. Looking forward to a return visit.
We were very disappointed in our meal. The boozy shake had an off flavor, the breakfast burrito was suppose to have beef brisket, it said chopped, I didn't know it would be old burgers chopped. We ordered a side of French fries, the waitress nevered ordered them for us. Not returning.

Just had dinner here and asked for the 20% “service charge” to be removed and it was. They said that’s to make sure the staff have a livable wage. As a business owner, you should be paying them a livable wage, not me as a customer. Raise your prices 20% if you need to and let people decide with their attendance and orders but surprising people at check out is a consistent issue in these reviews. I also don’t want to hear it’s on the website or anywhere else I didn’t look at prior to coming in.
We will NEVER be back because of this. We feel it’s not a morale business practice and I doubt those staff are getting that 20% service charge in addition to their minimum wage (and tips if customers still choose to do so). If so, provide some proof or if I ask your staff they should be able to say they are being paid more than minimum wage plus tips and they can’t.
I’m happy to tip for service provided but telling me there is a service charge of 20% and then I should do another 20% tip is ridiculous. And having your staff try to explain it when it’s not their place since it was a business decision is very unfortunate. They shouldn’t be put in that place.
The bathtub mimosa drink is gross. Just a side note to anyone ordering. Everything else was just ok. Go to Kopp’s if you need a good burger, fries and shake, not here.

Fun vibe, password and entry added to speakeasy vibe. Cool nostalgic decor. For us, kids detracted from vibe.

I just do not get all of the positive reviews. The hamburgers which are the main item on the menu are not very good. For comparison more Culver's like but at triple the cost. The shakes and onion rings are very good and I would recommend these. This restaurant is very expensive for what you get and the quality of food. They also add a 20% tip automatically on the bill and then ask on the receipt if you would like to tip again. We had three burgers, two shakes one lemonade drink and onion rings and the bill was $97. Based on what we received it is not worth the experience.
Had a great time ! We brought our two grandsons (9 and 12) and they totally thought grandpa was picking up a TV. We had great service, good food and a really fun time!

The level of noise was high. Couldn't hear each other talk. The costumer apparently isn't right. If we asked for something made a certain way and the waiter didn't hear how is that our fault. Please just remake it. They won't alter the liquor content when asked so that was a waste of $. The meal was tiny and not cheap. I guess you pay for the experience. One time visit for me.
Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Loved having to find the secret password to get in. 😚. Very nostalgic and we had fun as a big table. Highly recommend.

Quirky idea but the rest was mediocre. The menu is pretty limited to a few burgers, fried appetizers, short breakfast, and fish fry (we were there on a Sunday at noon). One order was just wrong and we had to ask 3 different people for a refill on soda. Restaurant was clean and the staff friendly.
