I have been going to Gold Rush since 1981. They used to live fairly close to this place but I have long since moved 25 minutes away. I still drive to gold Rush whenever I'm in the mood for fried chicken. It is consistent, it is friendly, it is fresh, and it is delicious. The menu is extremely extensive, including shrimp, lobster, pizza, assorted sides, and lots and lots of combinations of order sizes. The chicken is always hot, crisp, and extremely tasty. it's lean towards the savory side, but as always properly cooked, meaty, and juicy. The french fries, a generous portion of which comes with the orders, are among some of the best in Milwaukee. If you were looking for a perfect "I don't feel like cooking tonight" purveyor of generous portions of a large variety of choices that will please everybody at a reasonable price, this is certainly the place. They've been around a very long time, and very deservedly. I ranked it five stars primarily because because the food never disappoints; the service never disappoints; and just for the general longevity and consistency of a fine Milwaukee food establishment (institution).

Ordered for pickup last night (12 pc chicken with fries annd extra slaw, two bags of cookies annd bottle of hot sauce) and the food was delicious, staff was exceptionally polite and service was great. Everything was in one bag and made it simple for me to grab and go. Initially I called and they said it would be ready in only 20 minutes but I got it in 13 and a half minutes which was quick. The guy was also answering the phone the whole time I was waiting in the lobby taking calls back to back and writing and he was polite to everyone who called and got there orders put out chronologically and timely manner. Will definitely come back again. Not sure what the other bad reviews are about, seems like they just have a lot of haters because they actually have good food and good service!!

I stopped in and said I had never been here so I needed a minute to order. The staff taking orders asked if I was ordering for 1 or a group and suggested the 4 chicken tenders plate or the ribs. I went with the tenders, but they didn’t give me tenders. I got 4 mixed pieces of chicken. I was the only one in there ordering with at least 3 staff who easily could hear my order. I don’t know if they thought it was a nice gesture to give me other chicken, they mixed up my order or just didn’t care. Just disappointed because I don’t like the style bone in chicken they gave me so it was a waste of my money and time. Just confused and disappointed. I think the chicken is worth getting for the area but I’d unfortunately feel the need to look at the order before walking out.

I order from here very often the food is always good I've honestly never had a problem with there food being cold or not there. I'll most likely be ordering from here as long as there open. The only reason I'm not giving the 4 stars is because delivery SOMETIMES not all call and say "I'm here" for me or my girl to stand outside and wait for them. I tend to order pick up now and it's still totally worth it.
Our go to for getting fried chicken. Its really good and they make it pretty fast, too!
