I usually don’t speak about campus dining; but this has been going on for way too long. The fruit situation at UWM Sandburg has gotten unacceptable. Lately they’ve been serving old, soggy, clearly previously frozen fruit that is nowhere near fresh. Students can tell when fruit has been sitting out too long or when it’s been thawed and tossed into the line like it’s “fresh produce.”
When we’re paying for meal plans—and relying on campus food for actual nutrition—it’s frustrating to get fruit that’s mushy, flavorless, or browning. Basic fresh fruit shouldn’t be optional. It’s one of the few healthy options students try to grab between classes, and it defeats the purpose when it’s low quality.
I’m not asking for anything extreme—just genuinely fresh fruit, rotated regularly, and stored properly. A lot of students have noticed this issue, and fixing it would make a big difference in the overall dining experience.
Until then, students deserve better than old, unfresh produce. Sandburg can and should do better.

Food consistently undercooked or spoiled, produce inedible due to mold or rot, etc. Reports of food poisoning are common and not taken seriously. I have major health concerns about consuming dining hall food. Everybody I know has gotten sick from it and there are no indications of any intentions to change for sake of keeping students safe. Dining plans are required with on-campus dorm housing and has in the past semester shifted to a money grab by the school that is highly disadvantageous to students. Prospective students, attend at your own risk.

This burger is a far cry from what I'd expect at a college dining hall - it looks like something I'd have been served in middle school. The presentation is downright alarming, like a culinary horror show.

The fruit isn’t fresh. I have to watch which grape I’m going to eat next due to fungi, mold, or tiny white holes being around the center of the grapes. Overall the fruits and vegetables aren’t fresh and some days you get lucky when it comes to getting fresh fruits and veggies because most of it tastes sour or old.
Nastiest food you will eat. It will be somehow burnt and cold while at the same time being raw in the middle. If you are hoping something is available it’s not
Got a hotdog from the cafeteria and it was raw the first time. Filed a complaint on it a few minutes after close and they offered to make a new one but again, it was raw. Looked the exact same as the first one. This is disgusting and is a safety hazard. People shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars for a meal plan and get fed raw, disgusting food. I’d give it a -10/10 if I could. Also, the service here is terrible. The people who works here are so rude. Got a tray from the dining hall and they just snatched it back when I came back with it not caring if it was needed or not. Terrible.

probably the worst food in Milwaukee. Terrible service
Nice family place to eat & work at
Good fresh food! Convenient
Best place to eat on campus
It has good service most of the time with decent food. Lines can get long and you can wait a while for sandwich orders during busy times, but there is a salad and fruit bar which are always accessible. The weekend brunches are the best.
