Our server was amazing the views were even better!
This place is great. The food was delicious! The views are awesome too. I ordered the beef Bolognese and I can't stop thinking about it. We will be back!
This is how a dining experience should be! The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Pretty much can’t go wrong with the menu. The focaccia appetizer is a necessary selection. Pizza and pasta are all fabulous. Really refreshing to dine at a place that does it right!
Friendly staff! Great food. Good drinks. Amazing view
I really wanted to love this place. I’d heard great things, and it has a beautiful view with all the makings of a great restaurant -- but I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I doubt I’ll ever go back, which is honestly a shame.
We were there for a birthday party and were excited they could accommodate a large group on a Monday night. That, unfortunately, was about the only thing that went smoothly.
A few of us arrived early and went to grab drinks at the bar. There were four of us at the time, and although there were multiple bartenders and the bar wasn’t crowded, it took an unreasonably long time to be greeted and served. That set the tone.
By 6:30, the full party had arrived, and we were seated. We didn’t get our main courses until nearly 8pm. Here’s what conspired:
Our server came to take drink orders for those who hadn’t gone to the bar. That process dragged on forever, even though the restaurant was not busy. When drinks finally arrived, we ordered appetizers. I was especially excited to try the garlic focaccia, but mine never came. The server disappeared, and when he finally returned ten minutes later to ask how the appetizers were, I mentioned mine never arrived. He said he’d check… and then vanished again.
He didn’t come back until we had all finished eating (except for me, because again, no focaccia) to take our main course order. At that point, I was hungry and irritated. I ordered the Mafaldi (which I’d seen good reviews about) and asked for extra ricotta.
From that point, it took 40 minutes to get our entrees. On a slow Monday? Completely unacceptable.
The kitchen is visible from the dining room, and I had a front-row seat to what looked like complete disarray. A tall guy in a hat stepped in to try to manage things, but it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. Several servers were clustered near the expo line, looking flustered and frustrated. It didn’t inspire confidence.
When the food finally did come out, it was a mess. My friend’s pizza looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time (I had been watching the kitchen and saw it sitting there). Our meals didn’t arrive all at once, half the table had to wait another five minutes -- and multiple orders were incorrect. My dish came without the extra ricotta. I eventually got some after flagging down our server.
The manager clearly knew the experience was off, because she came by handing out free drink coupons... but only for Negronis or Aperol Spritz. Two of the worst drink options imaginable. Salt in the wound.
We had brought in a birthday cake and asked them to bring it out for dessert. They did, but again, everything moved at a glacial pace. There was zero sense of urgency at any point during the evening. After singing happy birthday, our server vanished again, and we had to wait (again) for him to come back and take the cake to be cut.
Someone in our party later mentioned the server was new. That’s fine. Everyone starts somewhere, and he very was nice. But it was also painfully obvious he was in over his head. A fine dining restaurant should not assign a 10-top to a brand-new server with no support. It ruined the night for all of us.
The only real highlight? The manager kindly offered to take photos of our group in the foyer. They turned out lovely -- but honestly, it’s not really a night I want to remember. 😅
Fantastic spot on the 9th floor with a terrace. Good food and awesome people taking care of your group, both at the bar and the tables.
Great food, unique flavors! The service was great but it’s a really loud environment, you can barely have a conversation in your table.
I'm excited to share my experience at Il Cervo, a stunning Italian restaurant in Milwaukee's Third Ward. Located on the 9th floor, it offers breathtaking views and plenty of photo-worthy spots.
Dinner service was fantastic, thanks to our server, Sage, who provided great recommendations on drinks, appetizers, and entrées. For drinks, we loved the "Scorch the Earth," the "Bocca di Rosa," and their unique espresso martinis--all were delicious!
Our appetizers included the hearts of romaine, fingerling potatoes, and especially the focaccia bread, which was the table favorite. For entrées, we enjoyed the spicy pepperoni pizza, which had the perfect kick, the mafaldi pasta--a flavorful, deconstructed lasagna--and the classic chicken parm. Each dish was packed with flavor.
Overall, Il Cervo impressed us with its beautiful views, wonderful staff, and delicious food. Personally, the appetizers and draft cocktails were my favorite part, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Milwaukee!

Food was great! The service was however very poor. The server took over 15 minutes to even greet us at the table to get our drink order and only checked on us one other time throughout the entire dinner. For a more upscale restaurant I would expect better service.

Waitress was not up to our standard. She was not friendly at all and gave us the feeling that we were bothering her.
Also our table was tight next to the bar and was very busy and loud- not the ideal way to celebrate our anniversary.
Food was average. Meatballs were cool.

We were celebrating a birthday. As we arrived, we were greeted and sat down. Everything was okay until our food started coming except for my daughter’s. She got spaghetti but instead of spaghetti the waitress put in the wrong order and my daughter got two appetizer meatball instead. She ate my chicken Parmesan dish with me instead while we waited for her food. It wasn't until we were all almost done eating when the waitress came to tell us the mistake she made that she had put in the meatball order instead of spaghetti and asked if we wanted still wanted the noodles. My daughter did not eat the appetizer meatball because she thought her spaghetti noodles were coming soon so she wanted to wait for that. I told the waitress to go ahead and just pack the spaghetti to go for us, disregarding that she brought it out to the table and said she wanted us to tried it while it’s still hot instead of packing it to go. I was already annoyed at this point. When we got the check, I noticed that she added the two meatball to the bill, which was the error order that she put in and we did not order. Our bill came out to around $128 and we tipped $25 cash despite the poor service. It’s sad to say but we will not be back.
