This was our second time trying the food here. First off, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful and very clean, which made a great first impression. The door was locked when we arrived, but the staff did greet us and let us in promptly.
We had placed our order over the phone, which was an easy process. However, since we’re originally from Arizona and not super familiar with Jamaican cuisine, we did feel like the customer service could have been better when it came to explaining what’s offered. You kind of have to know what you want already because not much help or guidance is provided when ordering.
On our first visit, the food was very flavorful, but unfortunately, the cabbage and curry chicken were both too salty for our taste. Still, the flavor and tenderness of the meat were good enough for us to give it another try.
On our second visit, we ordered the same dishes: jerk chicken with peas and rice, curry chicken with peas and rice, oxtails with peas and rice (each served with cabbage), and one jerk egg roll. This time, only the jerk egg roll and the oxtail were slightly salty, which was a noticeable improvement.
Despite the saltiness, everything still had great flavor, the meat was extremely tender, and everything tasted very fresh. We’ll likely return again to see if the third time’s the charm!
