Lakefront Brewery is a great spot to grab a beer and munch on some cheese curds! They have a vast selection of their own beers, and you even have the option to take a brewery tour (for an additional cost).
If you’re looking for table service, be sure to make a reservation ahead of time if you’re planning to go during a busy time like Friday dinner. While there weren’t any open tables when we arrived, we had no problem ordering beers and cheese curds from the bar and sitting at the chairs overlooking the river.
Five stars. Definitely coming back!
The brewery tour is awesome! Our tour guide Nicky was absolutely hilarious. My wife and I were on the fence about taking the tour but I’m so glad we did. Rus, if you see this, give Nicky a raise!
Food was good and the beer was great. The kitchen did close for an hour so that was a bummer but everything else was great. Chill place to hang out near the water. Definitely recommend
Best cheese curds ever, very prompt service, and amazing atmosphere
The brewery was great, the atmosphere was amazing and the cheese curds were fantastic. They were super chewy and had a little grease on the outside. The downside is you can’t eat a lot of them at the same time because of the cheese and grease. They don’t offer flights on the weekends but I got the dive beer and it was a nice light beer. You have to pay for the brewery tours and they are only available on the weekends.
We did a brewery tour and shout out to our guide Tony! He was hilarious but also super knowledgeable and engaging. He made it so much fun. Also, the tour is a huge value! We got four beers each and a really cool pint glass as a souvenir. After the tour we ordered the cheese curds (seriously amazing) and sat outside overlooking the river and it was perfect.
Food was pretty good, so the rating is all about the service.
First, they ran out of turkey somehow. But whatever.
I ordered fish tacos after being told there were three in the order. Got two instead, and the server didn't even apologize when told of the error.
Also, was told the side of chips was sour cream and onion. Instead, it was cheddar and sour cream.
Friend ordered mac and cheese right after my order, and apparently they had to kill the ingredients because not only were my fish tacos delivered but I had finished eating before his order was brought out.
Server couldn't understand why it was frustrating our orders were delivered 15 minutes apart, and also after a group of three that was behind us in line but got its food first (and all together).
Disappointing experience.
We had a great experience doing the Lakefront Brewery tour with Jack! He was really fun and informative, and it was a blast learning about the process, especially after also seeing the Miller Tour and how different it is for a locally-owned brewery.
On top of the tour, you get some great samples, and we also sat down and had a snack before the tour. The cheese curds were the best I had in Milwaukee and highly recommend!
Great beer and food!
This was our second visit to the brewery while visiting Milwaukee. Place is super huge, can be noisy and crowded on weekends, parking is also a hassle since it’s street parking. It’s a self seating arrangement so can be a bit difficult to find a spot during weekends. There are 2 stations 1 to order food and another for drinks. They have a good variety of beers alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Price is decent for the beer, food is expensive. We tried cheese curds and it was delicious. They have patio seating as well but we didn’t try it since it was a cold day when we visited.
Restaurantji Recommends
A little cheeky and over over produced and I wish there was something on the tour to drink other than IPA and Lager.
Fun tour w a chance to sample 4 different beers/seltzer!!
Highlight of my weekend trip to Milwaukee. Very affordable and fun tour (with tour guide Jack!) that also includes 4 half-pours and a glass or keychain. My partner and I tried 9 of their beers which ranged from pretty okay to fantastic (our favs were the reddy teddy and east side dark), and the fish fry went great with them. Highly recommend.
I was visiting Milwaukee and this place had multiple recommendations for the cheese curds so I decided to stop in. The cheese curds with ranch were really good and I very much enjoyed them. I just came for the curds no beer. I knocked a star off for the ordering & seating arrangement. You have to have a place to sit (table #) before you can order food… I was a solo traveler and didn’t have anything to leave at a table to “claim it”. I ended up taking some of the napkins and silver ware roll out of the holder at the table and setting it out and thankfully no one messed it with. I will say that it is incredibly loud inside and voiced echo since it’s just a giant brick room.
Brittany was our tour guide and she killed it!!! Great tour, great beer and damn good cheese curds!!! I am visiting from PHX and we don't have anything like this in AZ!! Cheers!!
