Food is impeccable. The three Karen’s with the bad reviews (Emily, Susan, and Nick) sit on a throne of lies. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Half price tacos on Tuesday are to die for (bistec especially).

We had our first meal at Las Gardenias recently and it was outstanding, best Mexican meal we’ve had in Milwaukee. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Service was very attentive. Margaritas were excellent and they offered a variety of options. We shared two apps among the three of us, bone marrow and the Aguachile Rojo, both excellent. We each ordered entrees, and all three were outstanding. I don’t have the correct menu description, but I had the Mexican stew and it was truly incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice looking place, but unfortunately a miss on the food and margaritas.

My mezcalita was served up with no rim no ice and tasted unremarkable for the price ($14) and zero smoke from the mezcal. The food was the biggest let down. Tiny enchiladas with sauce that seemed like it was sitting out and had a surprising lack of taste. Truly tasted like just shredded chicken in a tortilla - I expect more spice from a Mexican restaurant. And for $26, I should be quite impressed by the dish - at the very least not let down.

Thought about if I would return and the answer is no. There is better quality food and margaritas for way better price too near to justify returning. Opinions are my own, go try for yourself and form your own!

I've been waiting for a restaurant like this in Milwaukee! Fine Mexican dining with a great staff and wonderful ambiance. It's not often you look at a lunch and dinner menu and can't decide which will be better. Erik our waiter was awesome and lead us in all the right directions. Highly recommend the aguachiles rojo, bone marrow, birra pollo and bistec stew. Can't wait to go back for lunch!

Fresh, great tasting, authentic food beautifully presented in one of our favorite restored old buildings. Everything was done so well.

Las Gardenias is not the fine dining restaurant that it thinks it is. For these prices, the food and service need to be way better. My spouse’s bone marrow was burnt and so overcooked that all the fat had run out. Maybe instead of the waiter explaining it to my spouse, someone could explain it to the chef. Then the hostess came over to explain to me why the shrimp in my agua chile were so tough. It’s actually because you marinated them too long. Also, all the components need to be cut smaller. I shouldn’t have to be recutting everything so that I can eat it. I did really like the verduras taco.
The table salsa was tasteless. I don’t mean in spiciness; I mean it didn’t taste like tomatoes or chilis or anything but Knorr powder, but you could see the chili powder in it. They could use some interesting n/a drinks, and the big plates are too big for the small tables. And it was too loud.
Afterward my spouse said he’d been wishing we were at La Chinampa. I had been wishing the same thing.

Flavor! Wow the flavor! This is not American Mexican food. This is authentic and rich with flavor. These are thoughtful dishes presented with grace. When you meet Patricia the owner you’ll understand what makes this restaurant different. Birria chicken was phenomenal. Other dishes at the table were beef marrow appetizer, cheese and beef chorizo app, steak taco, and chicken enchiladas. Don’t let the generic names fool you. It’s all about the unique flavors. Cheesecake, shared by the table, was the perfect ending. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the pleasant weather.

Beautiful space with flavorful plates. Warm and welcoming service enhances the experience. Everything was great. They have a good thing going here. This Mexican garden is blooming beautifully.
