Had a pick up order of tamales and pozole. Extremely disappointed in both. Tamales were definitely not made fresh that day with how they looked (or maybe they sat under a heat lamp all day). Pozole was salty and the chicken rubbery with how overcooked it was. We threw away the leftovers instead of keeping them. Only positive is that the horchata appeared to be made from scratch rather than a powder like many restaurants do and was good.

Stopped in for lunch while I was serving jury duty at the courthouse. It was really good and quick service! Your get chips and salsa as a little appetizer and I ordered the Birria tacos as my meal. The meat was really good and sauced up. I liked that they doubled up the tortillas and they had a crunch to it on some parts still.

Food was delicious! I am from Deep South Texas (Edinburg) this food made me miss home! We had the carne guisada, I plate is enough for two! So good! The chips are warm and the pico de gallo is perfect!

Excellent birria tacos and carne asada torta. Fresh pico de gallo, chips, and horchata. Friendly and efficient service. Conveniently located a short walk from Marquette University. Reasonably priced $16.50 birria tacos, $13.25 torta dinner with rice and beans.

It was the second time eating there, the first was about 7 months ago...we're back in town and wanted something to eat that was quick and tasty...this place fits the bill. The service was very good and the food was too. I had the burrito dinner...the burrito was huge...with carne asada...it came with refried beans and rice. It's not a very big place and they were doing good business...but we didn't have to wait for a table.

Had the birra tacos with consumé, consumé could use a lot more flavor but the tacos were delicious. Could use a lot better customer service though. When we arrive, there was a sign at the door, saying, please wait to be seated and one of the three workers sitting at a table stood up to tell us we could take a seat anywhere. We only got checked on once and it wasn’t until half an hour into our meal mind you we were the only ones there at this point. There never once was someone standing behind the counter besides when a worker was back there to get hot sauce for her food which finally gave me a chance to get up and ask for hot sauce myself as i didn’t want to disturb the three workers who were just sitting at the table eating and chatting before we got there until idk how long after we left. They got up more to serve themselves than they did to serve us. We also had to get up to ask for boxes and our bill. The ladies were all very nice but for an almost $100 bill the service made it almost not worth it at all.
Coming from a San Diego girl who loves her Mexican food over anything else…. Lazo’s Taco shop is the real deal!!!! The Birria with consomé…. Mmmm yummy!!!

Love the birria tacos and the price is fair I think 3$ would be ideal, but Thankfull. HATE the rice. I don’t like the corn in the rice it was infuriating. I like plain Mexican rice flavorful but with no chunks or pieces.
