Mae Velma’s Corned Beef | Avenues West

First off, charging $16 for two slices of Wonder Bread with maybe 9 oz of meat, no drink, no fries, no sides is wild. The sandwich was mid at best. I get that times are hard and businesses are struggling, but this level of price gouging is ridiculous.

I’d never been here before and wanted to give it a try, but never again. I could hit Aldi or Walmart, grab some corned beef for about $20, and make better-tasting sandwiches all week long. Add another $10, and I could throw in fries and a whole case of soda or some Kool-Aid packs if I’m feeling nostalgic.

Never again.

The food was not what I had expected. I ordered a corned beef and an Italian beef sandwich combo. The corned beef was toasted, it was okay except for that too much butter was used and made the sandwich soggy... The Italian beef had peppers add and I asked for a super light dip, it was super salty and the sandwich was so wet that the bread was like mush... I will never go back, I was not impressed at the least especially for the money that was spent...

The Restaurant was very nice and clean the staff was friendly, the wait for the food was not long at all and the food it’s self was amazing I got the Ruben sandwich with a side of thousand island and forced myself to finish it because it was so delicious! Will be back again had great experience.

Great customer service I did had an issue with them short me on the meat, but I did let them know. They corrected the issue right away I had got the half a pound of corn beef. The guys here are really nice fast customer service. The lady was nice as well. I will be back again.

This is the 76th St location, fat and membrane still attached to the corned beef. Had to pick through my sandwich just salvage my meal. No flavor and the bread was greasy, pickle was hot and egg rolls were undercooked

The food wasn’t to my liking. The Cornbeef sandwich taste different from the other locations like the meat isn’t made the same way the cheese wasn’t melted like it’ll usually need. I personally feel like they rushed my food and didn’t name it properly. I don’t think I’ll return to this location I’ll stick to the one on 76th street. But the atmosphere was beautiful in the inside.

Corn beef was 💯 it really hit the spot. Chips were bagged lays didn't specify but the overall experience still hit home. Would eat again
