The food was excellent. The pricing was reasonable for a chophouse. The baked potato was the best we ever had.
Got a bottle of wine, calamari for an appetizer, a 10oz center cut filet, and the short rib. Ordered the steak medium well and it came out medium rare. Asked the waitress if she could send it back to be cooked longer, came out again medium rare. The steak was cooked a total of 3 times and by that point was charred on the outside. Disappointing as this was a $70 steak. The waitress was very understanding but did tell us that the steaks are thick so if we wanted it cooked that way, we should ask for it butterflied. As if that's our job to take care of. The manager comped the steak but did not come over to us once even though we were 1 of 4 tables in the entire restaurant. This is a steakhouse, they should know how to cook any temp of steak correct the first time. Appreciated that they took it off the bill but will not return.
First time at ChopHouse for Downtown Dining. Overall food was good. The timing it took for a dinner for 2 was almost 2 hours. We had to ask a for our drinks as they were taking some time. The appetizer was described as bruleed goat cheese but was not soft or warm (unclear if that's how it was intended to be but our server came back only after it was finished). The quality of the steak was very good but mine was over done from medium rare. My boyfriends was slightly more to his liking of rare. We had to get our servers attention a few times and overall felt like he was scattered. It was busy, so we weren't expecting one on one service. But when the tables next to us with different servers ordering at the same time got meals and drinks faster/more consistently it felt like we were an afterthought. To leave on a good note loved Downtown Dining options on the menu.
Enjoyed the Diwntown Dining menu of delicious melt in your mouth tenderloin steak and brussel sprouts and can't beat the great wine choices during happy hour at the bar for $5... can't wait to come back as service was also stellar!
The 7 oz filet and sides (mashed potatoes and fried brussels sprouts) were superb and are highly recommended. We happened to visit on a Wednesday so also enjoyed 50% off a fine bottle of wine. Service was top-notch.
Steakhouse in the Hilton Milwaukee, food and service are good. Not the best steakhouse I've eaten at and not the worst, a solid middle of the road place. I would eat there again.
Exquisite, amazing, delicious, great deal - where do I begin? Thank you for being so gracious and for your hospitality and for being a lovely host to this party of one. The downtown dining week choices were an amazing value.
We went for Downtown Dining. The table we requested was perfect, reasonably away from others and noise. Unfortunately, it was under cold air vents; it was cold enough wives had to put on coats. The salads were made up of old, somewhat brownish, wilted lettuce. The salmon meal was okay, maybe worth $55 but not worth the $85 they asked for the tip to be based on. The sirloin was okay but the accompanying mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were minimal. We will not be going there again.
Beautiful dining room, great service Delicious food. Much attention to side dishes like garlic mashed potato's and Brussels sprouts. One of my favorite tiramisu desserts ever
We were out, on our way to a show. We decided to take advantage of Downtown Dining. The quantity, quality and service, were on point and well worth the cost. I will definitely keep this in mind for next time.

We had a really nice dinner here while staying at the Hilton. Swordfish special and filet were both great! Service and drinks were great as well.
Such a beautiful atmosphere- brings me back to an old Milwaukee classy time. Unfortunately the food did not match. Over cooked and underwhelmed. King Crab Legs (MP) were skimpy, chewy, and smothered in old bay - yuck. Steaks were not very flavorful. Sides mediocre- not very unique choices, hasn't the Brussel sprout phase passed yet? Desert - carrot cake. Practically frozen, butter cream? No no - it should be a light fluffy cream cheese frosting. Service ABOVE AND BEYOND AWESOME!!!
It took 25 minutes after being seated to have our order taken and an hour plus before our food arrived.
Lovely special occasion dinner at the Chophouse. Wonderfully well prepared food and our needs and options were considered as well. Many places do no substitutions. However, the waitress, Jessica was very helpful is allowing our changes. The restaurant is traditionally decorated and quite cozy if seated in a booth. It was not busy early but was getting filled as we left. It was quiet with excellent music playing which made the meal even more enjoyable. I had scallops and my husband, a ribeye. Both meals were very delicious and more than enough. Complimentary crème brûlée for a desert treat. Wine Wednesday with half price bottles also complemented our celebration. The chef came and introduced himself to us as well. Very impressed by everything. Of course, we will return.
Respectfully, worst Bday celebration dinner. Went in knowing our cost would be pricey for 6 people, but the place was highly recommended. Because our Bday boy is worth every cent & we're willing to pay for what we get, we went. Seated at a table, which was just ok. I took the uncomfortable chair w/my back against a pillar not being able to easily get in/out. Figured better me than another in my group. We didn't see the same food offerings as the online menu - ordered anyway. Had a child with us (willing to pay adult price). He LOVES crab legs so that was ordered. When the crab legs arrived, we were pleased that they were cut in half making it easier to extract. However, the child did not like them. His parents asked if he could exchange the crab for another item. Understandably, the manager was needed. By then, I traded my steak for his crab thinking an item exchange was unnecessary. Looking forward to the crab but disgusted with what was handed to me. It was so overcooked/dry it was shriveled up inside the shell. A piece I managed to get out of another was rubbery and gross. I then politely asked for the manager. She was unfriendly and rude with blank expression on her face. Maybe she wasn't trained in customer service? I showed her my plate & called attention to the gross display. She simply stood over me, saying nothing. Thinking she didn't hear me as I was purposely talking quietly to not disturb other diners or bring attention to the disgusting food, I repeated my complaint. Still, NO RESPONSE. No offer to remove it/bring me something else. I finally pointed to my plate, looked at her and firmly said "No, I can't eat this. Please remove it." Then, she removed the plate and the item from our bill. SHE NEVER SAID A WORD. NO APOLOGY. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. It was as if her intent was to shame me. More complaints about the food, but I'm limited to characters. NEVER AGAIN ChopHouse - NEVER AGAIN!
