After a long day at work, my husband and I were trying to figure out what to eat. We decided to stop by New China Buffet to save ourselves the extra 5-minute drive to our usual spot at Lovers Lane Sushi Bar & Buffet, a decision we immediately regretted.
The food was incredibly disappointing. Most of it tasted old and stale, like it had been refrigerated without a lid or deep-fried multiple times. The buffet selection was minimal, and shockingly, there was no pizza available for the kids, something you typically expect at family-friendly buffets.
What made the experience feel even cheaper was the fact that everything was served using disposable styrofoam plates, bowls, and utensils. It felt more like a takeout joint than a dine-in buffet. This, combined with the poor food quality, made the whole visit feel low-effort and uninviting.
The clams were rubbery and stretched like chewing gum—possibly undercooked, definitely unappetizing. The crab salad had that unpleasant “refrigerator taste,” and the crab rangoons were just okay at best, though I’ve had much better even from other buffets.
We truly wish we had just taken the short drive to Lovers Lane. Even if the meal here were free, we wouldn’t come back. I don’t like being overly harsh, but I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism. There’s a lot of room for improvement, and diners deserve better.
Food was disgusting, it was very dry and sitting for along time. I would not recommend at all
Not a big selection of choices to choose from and the food was very dry
Loved this restaurant for years...its better than ever!
They have the white rice and gravy at this location. The sweet and sour chicken is delicious. Food tastes fresh and not synthetic.
Good hot food
There is no great variety in dishes
If you like Styrofoam plates, cups and plastic eating utensils... Food is mediocre. Plenty of food if you are hungry and aren't looking for much flavor. No service at tables. They kept food bar full. I probably would not go back.

So went here about 3 or 4 times now. It’s an ok place to eat in but found that the rice is a bit hard & I didn’t enjoy the food too much so don’t think I’m coming here again.

Not impressive. The place is a bit run down. The food is a bit too salty. Decent variety of food.

I don't know what people are expecting from this place, but you get what you pay for and it's more than worth it. The food is good...not always great but good. Theirs something for everyone. Yes they changed they're plates and cups to something more affordable for them but who cares? It serves it's purpose. If you're looking for a fancy 5 star dining experience then go to a steakhouse. if you want affordable all you can eat Chinese food with a good variety of food and deserts then you won't be disappointed.

This place is done for. Instead of going up and getting better they downgraded, you only get a styrofoam cup and no more. And everything is plastic now. The place has remained the same now for many many years now. “New China Buffet” nope. “Old testament buffet”. Buddha certainly aint helping the place either. Praise Jesus everybody. ❤️ John 3:16

1st timer here. Walked in and the cashier takes my payment and hands me a styrofoam cup. Doesnt say anything. I told her Ive never been here before. She gets upset and points and says, "Its all help yourself." To which I told her, "I wasnt sure if you seat guest but I guess you just turn us loose. Thank you."
The food was barely warm. Its made in bulk and sits in deep wells on that steam table. At least if they were in shallow dishes you'd know they make it fresh more often. The rangoon was old and chewy. All the sauces tasted the same.
The worst thing they serve is the "Fried" Rice. That rice seemed like it never touched oil to fry. It was more like dehydrated rice they added water to and set it out.
I guess I shouldnt have expected much once I saw stacks of Styrofoam plates, bowls as well as plastic utensils.
This has to be the worst Chinese Buffet experience Ive ever had. I work nationwide and Ive been to places that, compared to this, this place shouldnt even be open.
I came, I tried....NOT AGAIN.
