The food was amazing and the games were perfect. Thank you for giving us fun and food during this stressful time. Order some delivery and get a fun game. A night of family fun and delicious food! Thanks!!!!

Great birthday spot for a group of friends! We had a group of 12 on the bottom floor sitting at one long table. There were lots of games to choose from downstairs as well as more located upstairs on the main floor. There's a second bar downstairs where we were but it didn't need to be opened. Bathrooms were very convenient for us as well, not far away but not too close to be unsightly- they were a few steps up and around a short corner. The waitress was attentive and welcoming. The bar itself is along The Hop line. I would love to go back some time!

I love the premise of this restaurant, board games and all kinds of video games while you eat and drink, amazing. The beverages were decent and I would have rated it 5* but unfortunately both my wife and I got a bit sick a few hours after eating here. I'm willing to chalk it up to coincidence and I will be back. When I go if I don't get sick I'll rate it 5*!

I just don't understand. It's like the infrastructure is all there- the facility is nice... but it's like this weird little group of bartenders and servers that, like, have never done this before?! I honestly don't understand. They're just not good at this....bless em. (But it's currently open and they have beer, so here we are).

Great atmosphere for gamer and non-gamers alike, but seriously, their board game selection is INSANE. Their staff members are very polite and knowledgeable about what they offer, and I had the best cauliflower there. Seriously, don't sleep on this place, come visit and support a great Pub. I would give this place 6 stars, but five is the max.

Just stopped in for a drink after dinner at chipotle and decided to go downstairs for trivia. We had a bag of leftovers we had no intention of eating since they were ya, know , leftovers. And got told my I'm sure you're manager that "it's really not cool to be bringing in outside food when the whole point is to be ordering our food". Told him we just were gonna be having drinks and it was left over. Also told him we just wanted to spend our money with them. But will likely NEVER return to your establishment. Not a very customer service friendly place.

The food and drinks here are amazing! My friends and I always make a habit to come here often to play games and have a few drinks. It's always a great time and the staff is fantastic!

Fun, quirky, nerdy alternative to the loud sports bar scene or the dark tavern atmosphere. A great place for a friends night out with a very large selection of board and card games. The draw is the games but the drink options are solid, prices reasonable and the menu is clever and fun. The food wont wow you but is diverse and tasty and satisfying. It is great to have niche places like this!

Really fun and unique place. They have tons (a whole wall of) board and card games to play. The TVs above the bar are attached to gaming consoles, and you can check our controllers to play the games. I enjoyed watching folks play. We had a few good apps - large menu with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. A fun place to hang out and easily accessible via the Hop streetcar.

I went there to hang out and play games. The food prices were a little expensive but I didn't expect the quality to be amazing. I was WRONG. The food was delicious and well worth the price even without the gaming availability. Board games available are vast, there are console games too, but I was there to play D&D. Being able to drink and eat while playing was a new experience that I loved. I plan on going back every other week. :)

I've heard that the food and drink prices here could be a little high. And that is maybe technically true. You could possibly get the same food down the street a little cheaper BUT what you won't get is a seriously friendly and accepting place to hang out and play some awesome games. The atmosphere here is so cheery and welcoming. The staff is clearly LGTBQ friendly (for those who might wonder) and the selection of available games is most definitely worth paying a buck more for your burgers and fries. They have board games, card games and electronic games. They absolutely don't mind if you bring in your own game and the whole afternoon was just a ton of fun because they are totally willing to move food and drinks with your game in mind. No plopping stuff down in the middle of the board etc.

The wings were really tasty, albeit a tad cold. I love the funky beer selection, I had a pumpkin cider that was perfect for a cold day. The games are fun and it's a great concept for a bar. Would definitely recommend.

Such a fun place! Played a game while we ate and drank! Bartender super friendly. Cheese curds and cauliflower wings were amazing.

On a snowy January evening, on our way to the grocery store, we thought: hey, we are hungry, so why not stop at Oak and Shield and finally check it out? Knowing they had the impossible burger, we went ahead and popped in. Now, yes, it happened that they were out of the impossible burger this particular evening, but, their menu is quite ample with several vegetarian and vegan options, so I had my backup right away: the vegetable wrap. For a side, I chose the sweet potato fries, which are delicious. It's true that this was the first time we've been to Oak and Shield, but the menu looks like it has something for everyone, from a variety of appetizers, and also entrees including pasta. As we waited for our meal, and it being a game bar and all, the very attentive waitstaff suggested a tabletop game called Spot it!, which is easy to learn and play, and perfect for two people while they wait for their meal. We did not go for libations, but the "Potions" menu looked very tempting, and might try their hot toddy next time (I'm forgetting the name they gave it). So, this is a place where you can eat, drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages), play tabletop and video games, all in a cozy environment. Oh, and did I mention dessert? The angel bites (sopaipillas) are amazing. Right across from a Hop stop, and a hop away from the 15, 30, 30x bus lines. We plan to come back, perhaps with more people in our party and play Exploding Kittens and more.

Best cheese curds ever! Worst buffalo chicken wrap ever. It's a give and take. Avoid the Buffy chicken warp unless you like little chicken and lots of blu cheese. Good beer menu and drink menu. The games are great. Come for the beer, games and cheese curds and you'll be happy.
