I've been a fan of Oakland Gyros for nearly 30 years, starting at their original spot on Oakland & Locust, usually around bar time. Now, the Layton Avenue location is my go-to — same great food, but with more space and a family-friendly atmosphere.
The gyros are the obvious standout, but don't sleep on their flame-grilled burgers. They’re some of the best you'll find.

Ordered a combination platter and every single fry tasted like the way garbage smells, just straight nasty. I attempted to get a refund, after throwing the food out, and they said I had to bring the food back and continuously pushed for a replacement rather than refunding the part of my order that was bad. Value yourself, don’t eat garbage, go somewhere else.
Ordered a Greek salad. Came out on a paper plate with yellow lettus, blocks of feta, onion, kalamata olives and some oily mess with an array of seasoning. I yelped in utter shock. Who the hell puts PITTED olives in a salad?? I nearly broke a tooth. I actually think if it wasn't a crown I would've broke a tooth. I actually think it loosened my crown. Moral of the story. Be prepared to spit out the pits.
Best gryo we can find in town! Services aid also Great and the prices are reasonable. If you are looking for one of the best gryos around stop by and try thiers you wouldn't be disappointed!
