We checked out Outlaw Oyster (located in Crafty Cow) after seeing a video about it by another food reviewer and decided to go during their late “Yappy Hour” (8:30–10 PM). The vibe was laid-back, the deals were great, and the food was definitely memorable.
We ordered the “Let’s Get It All” platter for $50, which included lobster claws with hot butter, smoked whitefish dip, shrimp cocktail, tinned fish with crackers and lemon crème, octopus aguachile, and Caesar fries. We also added on extra lobster claws, shrimp cocktail, and fries.
Highlights:
The smoked whitefish dip was unbelievably good, rich, flavorful, and something we’d absolutely come back for.
Caesar fries were completely addictive.
The tinned fish was so tasty we ended up buying two to take home.
And those tiny tinis… wow. The espresso and dirty martinis were easily some of the best we’ve ever had. The dirty martini especially stood out, super briny, garlicky, and just perfect. (We definitely had more than a few.)
Lowlight:
The lobster claws were unfortunately very overcooked, which was disappointing.
What really stood out, though, was our server, Sugar Bear. She was absolutely outstanding, warm, funny, and super attentive. She genuinely made the whole experience feel special and memorable. When she found out about the overcooked lobster, she immediately apologized and went out of her way to try to make it right. Top-notch service.
Bonus tip: If you’re planning to go, check out the InKind app, they’re offering $30 off $100 right now, which made the night an even better deal.
We’d 100% go back, especially for the tinis, whitefish dip, and Caesar fries.

Really wanted to love this place, but…we didn’t. While the oysters and smoked white fish were tasty, the rest of the food was overcooked and it was all overpriced. The octodog was beyond chewy and there was not $20 more lobster in the XL lobster roll than in the lobster sliders. PLUS, the lobster roll wasn’t even served with real butter (for almost $50). They were out of several items including staple items. Social media really over-sold this place. Wauwatosa though is a very cute town and worthy of future exploration.

It's hard to find fresh seafood in the Milwaukee area, but this place has it and you wouldn't expect it. Stop by and gove it a whirl, you won't be disappointed unless you don't enjoy seafood.

Hands down best lobster roll I have EVER had!
I saw a tiktok about them changing the happy hour menu and decided to give this place a try. I had never had an oyster before, and these were so good. I am now a big fan. I also had a tomato sandwich that was delicious. Service was great, and staff was attentive. Will definitely return.

It was my first time there. Very small and cute place. The food and drinks were amazing. Service was great and I had a fun time. It is kinda hidden (you have to go through another business) but I thought that was pretty cool itself. Can’t wait to go back.

To start, I entered the online waitlist in case they were busy. Since I was already there, I figured I'd go ahead and stop in to see if they had a table since I decided to try to beat any dinner rush. Never heard anything from the waitlist text except the confirmation that I was on the list, but I got seated right away, so I didn't bother with it. There was only a couple other tables occupied when I arrived. I sat in a quiet corner at a two-top facing the street. It was a perfect little corner for an introvert. It took a little while for someone to greet me, but I was given water right away when that time came. For the app, I went with the whitefish dip. I usually prefer warm seafood dips, but this was delicious. A large portion of the dip came with crackers, banana peppers, and capers. I didn't care for the toppings, so l stuck with the dip and crackers. Regarding the amount of dip, I feel there should be more crackers, and I loaded up on them, but I still had a lot of dip left over. For my entrée, I got the lobster roll sliders. It came with what I assume were homemade chips. The lobster roll sliders were good with a nice helping of lobster and butter on the side. There wasn't much added flavor, but I didn't mind since it was legit just lobster and a buttered roll. Simple but good. When I had sat down, I noticed they had a mini dessert menu off to the side. The funnel cake fries were calling my name, and they were delicious. It did say it would come with strawberries and powdered sugar, but there were no strawberries, and the powdered sugar was sparse. Overall, it's probably not a place I would dine again due to the lack of menu items (if you don't care for oysters). The food was good, but not amazing enough to want me to return. Maybe if the prices were slightly better, but it is lobster. My waitress was also very nice.

We enjoyed checking out Outlaw Oyster. I've been wanting to visit since they opened. We were able to walk in and get a table with no wait, just in time for their happy hour between 4 and 5pm.
The space is located within Crafty Cow, and it appears they may share a kitchen. Rustic, cozy, nice atmosphere. The service was very pleasant and friendly, although a little slow.
We tried:
Smoked Whitefish Dip appetizer - our favorite!
Happy hour - $2 oysters, $3 tiny tinis, and $3 Outlaw beers
OctoDog ($22)
Connecticut Lobster Roll Sliders ($28)
Both entrees were good, but for the price point and quality they just felt a little too expensive. The buns being amazing really carried both dishes. The chips were tasty but unfortunately pretty hard so I wasn't able to finish them.
We finished the meal with their Daily Spritz cocktail ($10) made with Amara liqueur - blood orange. Nice and refreshing.
We had a good time at Outlaw and would return, although probably just to take advantage of the happy hour. If we lived in the neighborhood, I could see this being a great date night, and local go-to for oysters and drinks, especially if you could walk.

This place is a little gem in Tosa. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by our server. I don’t know the name of our server but she was super sweet and very knowledgeable. Everything was perfect, from the service, food, drinks and let’s not forget the atmosphere. The oysters were so fresh buttery and like an ocean explosion in your mouth which I love. The food was better than expected and fairly priced.

5/5! I always end up going for happy hour, because you can’t beat $2 oysters, $3 mintinis, $4 oyster shooters! The oysters are so very fresh. The mintinis are not only cute but delicious, the espresso one is a fave. They rotate the oyster menu! Great vibe, great bartender (only one so show some grace). All around a great little spot. Highly recommend.

We tried the pimento ball, Connecticut-style lobster roll sliders, and classic fish sandwich. Can’t wait to come back to try the smoked whitefish dip next. Get this place on your list! (But not when I’m trying to get in!)
Something to know: the restaurant is nested inside of Crafty Cow so you enter through there. Enjoy!
