While visiting Milwaukee from Michigan, we have been trying to find a good local ice cream shop. We stumbled upon The Purple Door this evening, and the only thing I'm sad about is that tomorrow is our last day. The ice cream was phenomenal and we received great service. We'll definitely go back for one last visit during our trip, but I'm finding myself wondering if we'd be able to keep some pints frozen during our 6.5 hour drive home. So if you're in the area, you won't regret treating yourself here!

A great selection of ice cream flavors—some of which might shock you. I think it's well worth it to get a sampler to try as many flavors as you can, but otherwise, ask the staff for what works well together in a cup if you choose more than one flavor. A little pricey, but worth it.

12/17/24 When you close at 9 don’t start closing up the shop an hour early and lock customers out. Kind of ridiculous, we wasted our time driving all the way over here for nothing.

Donna, and her team, at Purple Door, were a dream to work with! We had them cater our September 2024 wedding, and could have not envisioned a better treat for our guests.
We had Mini Cone/Mini Sandwich service for 160 guests and 1.5 hours of service - everything went off without a hitch, and clean up was a breeze.
There were leftovers that we were able to enjoy, and that was definitely a highlight as with most vendors you can't keep anything. I would recommend Purple Door to anyone looking for something different - especially for an outdoor event!
