Nice little British pub downtown in a nice neighborhood. Seem a little understaffed which shows on the weekends. Burger was good

I’ve been a frequent customer of Red Lion over the past 4 years and have always tried to give it the benefit of the doubt because the vibes there are amazing. However, each time I’ve been in the past 2 years (which is probably 15+ times), it has gotten worse and worse. The service is so slow, wait staff is not attentive, often times can see servers standing behind the bar doing nothing. The food is down right terrible. I have tried just about everything on the menu and the only thing I would even think about getting again is the fish and chips. How do you make such awful chicken tenders? The grilled cheese I had was rock solid, literally could not even rip it in half. Soup was ice cold, actually repulsive. The rueben has no flavor at all.
It is so frustrating because my friends and I want to enjoy this place but it has become very disappointing. Would not recommend this place unless you are going for just drinks and not needing attentive wait staff.

During our visit, they were missing a really long list of ingredients such that we had to change our table order twice. But the server was so gracious and forthcoming it didn't feel like a real issue.
Ultimately didn't cause too much disruption, because the food was still hearty and comforting (though mostly unremarkable), and the beer so affordable and delightful. The pasty absolutely hit the spot, so on-the-mark I forgot to take a photo of it, it was gone so fast. Chicken was pretty meh for the price though.
Really weird choice of music for an English Pub though.

As a soccer fan who used to frequent the red Lion each weekend for matches…WOW this place has fallen from grace. It’s been a few years because we moved out of town but the breakfast was absolute disappointing rip off. $17 for a cold English breakfast which was honestly a pathetic excuse for a real English breakfast??? Get out of here. Avo toast was also very disappointing for $14 and tasted like it came out of a bag with quality equal to Taco Bell quac. Will not return. With this ‘quality’ I cannot imagine they stay open much longer…service was good though!

Stopped in for lunch after visiting the O'Malley Europen Foods down the street. Had the scotch egg, bangers and mash, and fish and chips. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Street parking was easy on a Sunday afternoon. The only slightly negative was the slow service. It may have been the server was new as she looked lost when we asked for vinegar for the chips lol. But overall good value for the money and great food.
Parking: Street parking.

Great spot to catch a soccer game. Solid English and Irish beers on tap. Friendly crew. Could use some vegan options though.

Fun place to eat… GREAT Staff!! So friendly and the fish fry was out of this world!!
Watched an early morning Vikings game here (game was being played in London). Service was great (thanks, Justin). And food was really good, especially the giant pretzel. Guiness was on tap and poured to perfection. Thanks for the great time!

We had our wedding appetizers & dinner catered through Red Lion - and Loved their staff, guidance, AND food! Sandy made it easy for us the entire way and was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Thank you to the Red Lion Team for making our dinner exactly what we were hoping for.

THEIR RESTAURANT UNDER THE SANE OWNERSHIP (Three Lions Pub) ALMOST KILLED ME! They have the same workers working at both locations, so I thought I should warn people here too. They served me food (fish and chips) on a dirty plate and I got food poisoning from it so bad I ended up in the hospital. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you care about your health and the health of your loved ones, don't go here! You might be saving a life!
And to top it all off, they couldn't care less. They never gave me anything for my suffering and even said that it might have not been caused by them. When it's common sense that someone is likely to get food poisoning when you serve them food on a dirty plate.
Just don't go here!!

Red Lion is one of our favorite spots in Milwaukee. They have a great (newly renovated) upstairs patio, friendly service, and good food. It’s the best neighborhood spot!
