My party of 8 had a dinner reservation for Sabor Tropical on a Saturday.
Upon entering, it seemed as though they were unprepared for our party, but we were seated quickly so no big deal. As we placed our drink orders, we were told by the server that a few things were not available which would've been no big deal, but even after our orders were given to the bartender, the server made multiple trips to our table telling us that our secondary and tertiary drink options weren't available either and this essentially became the reoccurring theme for the whole evening. It took 30 minutes for the drinks to START coming out and when they did, we didn't receive them at the same time, but 5-10 minutes apart (which took quite some time for a large party as you can imagine). I think the bar was short-staffed for a time but they eventually got more folks back there. However it seemed as though the server was the only one for a while which is very unfortunate.
Once we started placing our food orders, we were faced with the same issue with things being out. Once we placed our food orders it was another 35-40 minutes before the food started coming out which again, was staggered with it taking 10-15 minutes between each meal. One person didn't receive their food until nearly the rest of the party was done eating! Silverware was also brought out as each dish came which was just terribly inefficient for the server as she had to keep running back and forth for so many things.
While the service left a LOT to be desired, the food was PHENOMENAL. It was hot and fresh and excellent quality and just bursting with flavor. GET THE NACHOS because you won't be disappointed. Everybody pretty much loved their dishes which made the bad service worth it lol.
Overall, the place is decorated well, has tasty drinks and AMAZING food but the service was terrible. It just seems like there's little to no communication between the servers and the kitchen and there's very little preparation for handling the whole process. I don't think our server was bad by any means, she was doing her best to navigate a situation filled with inefficiencies and a clear lack of staff. I would come here again, but I do hope they are able to improve the experience.

No one else in restaurant when we arrived. Took almost an hour before any food arrived at table. Orders came one at a time. Forth order never arrived. No explanation, no apology. Asked for bill. Were overcharged for food we never received. Drinks were watered down and poorly made. Will never consider going there again!

I was here 2018, now it's under a new management and I liked it more. Atmosphere is great. The furnitures and paints gave the place more vibrance and joyful vibe. Music was great. The food part, the chicken kabobs that we picked as one of the appetizer is excellent. I can taste the marinate and it's delicious. The tostones for us is the bomb. It's great flavor. The trio tacos was delicious and the pernil. Flavorful foods and we loved it. The lady boss was very attentive and asking feedbacks too. That's how you run the business. Kudos to all the Staffs. All of you are very accommodating and sweet. Thank you! Our tummy's full and will come back again when the craving kicks in.

Recently had a makeover it looks very nice! Great food and atmosphere! My go to is the “churrasco picotia’o” and the tostones rellenos!
