Sam's Place Jazz Café

2nd time here 1st was ok but not good so I wanted to give them another try . I ordered the shrimp and grits and they were very thick and dry asked for so of the sauce that it was supposed to come with and was greeted with rudeness and attitude. My lady had the chicken and waffles and was very disappointed and couldn’t eat it because the chicken was disgusting and waffle was dry. Definitely won’t be back! The lady that manages the place is rude service was horrible ignored us pretty the entire time. Save your money and time.

I visited this establishment for the first time with a large party including my wife and many members of my family. The food was delicious and the music and atmosphere perfectly set.
There's one thing that must be pointed out. Celebrated. And Acknowledged. There was a miscommunication with our order which disrupted its prompt service and was corrected amicably. The young man serving us was very good, concerned about our comfort etc and exhibited calm under the pressure of my niece --- a school principal --- who, intentionally goaded him with questions etc (unbeknownst to him) intended to teasingly test his resolve....He did great and I had to acknowledge him both there at the restaurant and with this review.

Have been to Sam's Jazz Cafe on at least 3 different occasions. Received warm greeting each time. Food has never disappointed ~ nice variety of dishes & sides to choose from. Great place to have small business lunch or meetings. Will be back! Highly recommend!

Customer Service was unkind. I came in the building this morning to look around thinking an event was occurring there later that night, however, it was occurring when I walked in. I then asked to use the restroom. I came out, went up about to order so I could join the event. Why did the lady staff say before I even spoke, “Why you come in here lying about wanting to look around when all you wanted to do was use my bathroom?” I shared that I came to see this place due to my VOCAL background and I thought there’s was an event later but it’s happening now, she says, “So you’re here for them, not to look around. I had to pull this up outta you. what do you want now?”
THEN PROCEEDS TO TALK ABOUT ME TO HER OTHER STAFF VERY LOUDLY TO ENTICE A REACTION!
^ WATCH HOW YOU SPEAK TO PEOPLE WHO YOU SERVE. BASIC SERVICE. & To charge 21 dollars for a sandwich yet don’t honor the customer…

Lovely restaurant with excellent food, coffee, and vibes. Owners are outstanding people. Live jazz also. Great place for a group, solo, etc.

My Niece and her husband invited us to Sam’s place almost a year ago! We are from another state centrally located on the East Coast.
The food was delectable! The coffee was definitely better than Starbucks!!
I loved atmosphere!!
We arrived in Wisconsin about a week ago; we could have brunch anywhere! However, we chose to return to Sam’s place!! We will be going there today! I will let you know the results!

Horrible experience! The owner's wife was rude at the door. Bland and small portions of food served on plastic plates and bowls. My husband and I left hungry after spending $80 dollars. One server for the entire place. I love supporting black businesses but this is one that I will never patronize again!!

The ambiance is excellent the mater d was very pleasant she made up us feel welcome a place with class and style we are planning another trip there soon.

The food, the hospital and the overall cleanliness of this establishment is worth 5 stars and 2 👍🏿👍🏿. Pay them a visit, you won't regret it!!!

The food is amazing, best chicken and waffles I had ever eaten!

The food was good. It reminds you of eating down south at your relatives house. I have yet to try their catfish.

Sam's place is a warm, friendly, inviting place to grab a delicious bite to eat all while listening to some soft jazz music and sipping some delicious coffee! 1st time visitor & definitely will be back again!

Nice brunch or breakfast spot, I usually get breakfast. Food is always fresh and good.
