Should have read the reviews before coming here. Not only does the food suck, the employees are even worse. You can spend all your money here and will get treated as a criminal. When you tell them you didn't get an item they will accuse you of basically stealing and need to check your bags. They will come outside with 3 people to check and make sure you didn't get it. Spend 100 bucks to get harassed over 4 dollars. Not worth any time or money at this place.... read the reviews and listen to the people.

Didn't know that there is no refund until I had a problem, the short bald black guy was quick to rell me that. The lightskin woman who was the manager wasn't any better. I moved out of Milwaukee awhile back so we were visiting and I remember that speed queen, Jake's, Solly, and a few others that is famous in Milwaukee, I made a list, so we went to speed queen today and the customer service was horrible. I order $53 worth of food, half of shoulder, half of turkey, box of fries, and pick 3. Shoulder had pieces of bread but the turkey didn't so I asked if the turkey come with bread, they said that both don't come with bread and that the new cook put bread with shoulder. I wanted a refund and that's when the black told me that I don't get a refundand wound just have to take the food and that's it. The manager walked by twice while we were go back and forth and then she came to window and didn't help the situation at all, I just aked her if I could get two slices of bread with the turkey because the shoulder came with it and her reply was that no matter what I say that she wasn't giving me any bread, so after a back and forth with her she allowed me to switch for the same price. The half of turkey is $17 and I decided on other pick 3 for $14. I told the manager that I still have $3 leftover and she said that she gave me the half of turkey with the 2sides and cornbread for the total price, which I then explained to her that she could have just given me the bread because for the same price she gave me sides and cornbread, which let me know that customer service is a thing of the past, the bread would have been cheaper and easier and would have displayed good customer service, but she really didn't think it would, when I explained that to her she said that if customer don't know what comes with the food that's the customer problem by not asking not that the employees responsibility. I leave Monday to go back to Texas and I just want whoever reads the comments to be aware. No refund is the sign for bad customer service, employees getting things wrong or not explaining what comes with food. This place is off list of restaurants to visit.

I read reply from owner and I can tell that the reply is just a put the blame on customer, because what the manager left out was that I repeatedly told the her that I wasn't yelling and I even apologized to her if she felt like I was yelling, I even told her with my hands up letting her know that I was not trying to aggressive, and after she told me that she wasn't going to give me anything(bread). I was just trying to get a understand of how the beef had bread and the turkey didn't. But it's my fault because I haven't been in so long I should have read reviews before going. If the owner is truly reading reviews writing responses, you don't care about the business it's to many bad reviews about bad customer service and horrible food portions/quality

In from Colorado we ordered the catfish sandwich all we got was 2 very dry pieces of bread and gross fish on top .. no mayo no mustard... just call it 2 dry fish with dry bread plate. DONT CALL IT A SANDWICH!!! THE PULL PORK SANDWICH TASTED LIKE RUBBER COOKED IN SOME DISCUSTING SOUCE!! close down already its so bad!!!

I was craving Tony's barbecue but they opened at 12 and i got off work at 11 so speed queen won.the last time i went was over 6 months ago n this time reminded me why.the new menu is ridiculous in pricing and the portions are so small. they should have kept old menu and prices its like they being money hungry now with less food and quality there of.. ribs were so fatty and for 21 bucks i was still hungry after sides were good potato salad and coleslaw. Tony's barbecue is much cheaper better combinations better meat quality bigger portions amd and not stingy with the sauce. i promise i was so pissed i didn't wait for Tony's.. I am officially done with speed Queen..also I wanted to pay half cash and half credit and they dont do that which is ridiculous.money is money im sure they have lost business since the remodel

I miss the old Speed Queen. The ribs suck now, I actually paid for 6 bones with fat and barely any meat.

Gross Let me start there…. The meat had no seasoning… Me and my husband got ribs and rib tips horrible… Moving right along to the red beans and rice tastes like water and again no seasoning…. Macaroni… Definitely was not cheesy enough also had no seasoning…
And how are you guys gonna be a black owned restaurant in the Cornbread was trash…
This is by far the worst food I’ve ever had in my life. I tried. It gave the rest to the homeless guy on the corner.

The service wasn't what it should be. The young lady, didn't know nothing about the food. The young lady was in the drive thru. Then did NOT Give me back the correct change. Just not so good.

I had stopped going to Speed Queen some time ago because the food was bad. However, I was riding with a friend and she had a taste for BBQ and we was in the Speed Queen area. We stopped and either I was very hungry because the rib tips tasted as if they were hot off the grill...delicious! So, I thought several weeks later I would try it again. What a BIG mistake that was!!!
My rib tips were burnt and dry. There wasn't anybody in the drive thru line so I thought my food would be tasty, tender and hot. Another mistake! For the most part, my dinner was more of the hard outer skin. It wasn't a large portion of meat. After chewing the hard skin trying to break it down so I could at least swallow it, I couldn't eat it so I threw out most of my dinner!! A huge waste of money.
They have gone up on the prices but the food portion and quality has gone down. I will not waste my money again at Speed Queen!
