I had the walleye fish fry on a Sunday. The food was good. The place is always busy so plan for that. Ended up getting two seats at the bar. I liked it and recommend it

I have never been so sick in my entire life. Stomach cramps diarrhea, throwing up. After about one hour of consuming Saint Paul Fish Company, lobster and crabcakes.. Came for my birthday lunch spent the rest of the day in bed from food poisoning. Probably won’t ever be back.

We arrived at 4:30 pm on Friday and there were no seats left in the restaurant. We ordered two meals and took them to the food court on the second floor. The food was great and we will be back.

My wife and I are African American. We went to the counter to check in and the man told us to sit at any table with 2 chairs. We sat down and waited for a server. A white couple came in and sat down 1 table away from us, there was another white couple sitting at the table directly behind us and the a second White couple came in and sat 2 tables away from us. A waitress came in and went straght to the 1st couple that came in after us, got there drink order and walked away without a word to us.
A second waiter walked in, checked on the people directly behind us to see if they were good and left the room without a word. A 3rd waiter came in and went straight to the 2nd couple that came in after us and proceeded to take there order.
At this point the 1st waitress back with the drink order and proceeds to take there order. At this point we've had enough and decided to leave.
Stopped at the counter and told the person at the counter, he gave a really weak, Oh I'm sorry, and watched us walk away as if he could care less.
As a person in the transportation industry, I drive a motor coach bus in down town Milwaukee for many Major events. Many times people ask about eating spots in the Downtown area, sorry to say this place will no longer be on my list.

My wife and I visited Milwaukee last November. We went to the Public Market for lunch and decided on St. Paul's.

It was unclear and confusing regarding being seated for a table. The dining area is divided by a public walking path from the front counter.

There was no host/hostess present to seat customers, so my wife and I just politely stood there while looking at a menu. We didn't know whether to seat ourselves, whether it was self service, whether we'd be waited on, etc.

A very rude woman sitting at a dining table barked out to us "Just go up to the counter!" She had an exasperated expression on her face while shaking her head. My wife and I were surprised that a stranger would initiate conversation to us in such a rude manner.

I politely replied "Do we just go up there and order and seat ourselves?"

She squinted her eyes while pursing her lips and curtly nodded.

At first we just thought people in Milwaukee were rude city people, and shrugged it off.

We sat down and ate. The food was ok, and the service was ok.

At the end of our meal as we were walking out, we noticed the rude lady who barked at us from a dining table actually worked at St. Pauls because she was working behind the counter.

No, Thank You. Not ever returning.

I traveled from Oshkosh to buy fresh fish, but unfortunately, none were available—only lobsters and jumbo shrimp. The prices were very high, and even other items in the market followed the same trend. Someone told me a lot of fresh vegetables there, but I couldn't find many vegetables there.

Absolutely disgusted!!! We came here as a party of 6! These were my guests!!!! Dressed very nice and arriving in a limousine! I am financially equipped to spend $1,000 or more for lunch if we wanted to! We decided to support the Milwaukee Public Market as I support the one in Mequon and had very amazing experiences. Regretfully we came to this location after leaving the State Of The City address hosted by the mayor at The Baird Center! We were told they don’t open for 20 minutes which WE KNEW, we sat in the seating area while waiting for the restaurant to open. We were told at 10:49am, 11 minutes before they open that we couldn’t sit in the area and wait as they needed to set up tables.

Check the cameras, the tables were already set. We were profiled! I will be contacting the alderman and every official in the city regarding the treatment we received.

I am a highly respected local business owner with an office right downtown on the 18th floor!! Unacceptable! Poor taste!!!!!!

Place is ok. I'm from the east coast so I may have different standards. The Lobsters in the roll didn't have a lot of flavor and the roll was quite overwhelming. The fries were pretty good. Oyster shooters ok. Fried oysters weren't bad.

Horrible service. Poor manner.
Another customer was talking to me, but the server interrupted mid-conversation, got angry, and left. I can't tell if they wanted me to eat or not.

Ordered lobster bisque, didn't find any lobster meat in it. On website shows lobster dinner for $12.95. Was told this was an old menu. Asked for fries well done. Didn't get that, nor any lemon for my water. Needless to say, NO TIP, and won't be back
