Really fun restaurant/bar. We got to the restaurant in the middle of the afternoon and it was absolutely packed. I usually would have walked away honestly... but my friends really wanted to eat here, so I reluctantly agreed to stay. We were seated in 10 minutes! I was shocked at how fast it was. I would have guessed it would have taken an hour. Anyway, they took our order right away and the food was fast and excellent. I had a salad with blackened fish. EXCELLENT! I recommend it for sure. Not sure when it's less busy, if ever... but worth a wait if you have to.
Fun spot. Casual hidden gem in historic Milwaukee. The BLT was awesome. The service was great. Definitely will be going back.

I stopped in last night with my mom and best friend before seeing a comedy show at the Riverside. We got there early because we were anticipating a decent wait time. Charlie met us at the door and was super friendly. He apologized that it would be a 30 minute wait, which we anticipated, and he was asking us about what show we were seeing and cracked a few jokes. Our table was actually ready in 15 minutes, and Daniel was our server. Also, very friendly and personable. When I went to order my drink, he let me know they didn't have it in at the moment, but he had a few other options ready to suggest and really made sure I got something close to what I wanted to order. Pit food came out quickly and was delicious. Daniel kept checking in, and when we went to order drinks to go with out dessert, he was ready to make sure we got drinks we would be happy with. As we left, both were very friendly and said goodbye, saying they hoped we came back to tell them about the show. We were very happy and impressed. The 3 of us said we would love to go back again if we are back in the area for another show. Thank you so much Charlie and Daniel for an amazing night out last night.

Loved our Wednesday evening dinner! Dan was an amazing server, extremely kind, attentive, and funny! Food was warm, tasty and delicious. Recommend the sangria & crispy chicken sandwich! Bathrooms were also clean and tidy!
Rarely does a restaurant exceed expectations. Swingin' Door Exchange, Saloon & Eatery is one of those places. Located downtown Milwaukee. The menu is simple, but then there are sides like grilled beets, or spicy vermouth carrots. The cocktails are incredible. The atmosphere is like stepping back in time. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Even a solo traveler will feel welcomed. Prices are so incredibly reasonable in a world where we often spend $50 a person and ask, "What did I just get?" Swingin Door will leave you satisfied and sated. Michael is outstanding, but all the staff is great. Perfect restaurant.

"Cheers" type place with good food. My bf and I went both nights we were visiting Milwaukee. It gets busy so getting a table at peak time might be tough.
This place is GREAT! Awesome drinks, great atmosphere including the wait at 4:30pm on a Saturday. oh my gosh my ginger salad, prime dip and carrots are OUTSTANDING! Can’t wait to come back!!!
