This place is amazing. Such a true arts, off-beat and fun hotel that is surprisingly in Milwaukee. I’m going back and bringing my family!
On the evening of November 15, 2024, at 6:30 pm, four young women of Hispanic and Filipino descent were refused service at the hotel bar. We are a group of prestigious young women who forged a strong friendship while attending Johns Hopkins University and graduated together this past summer. As we placed our orders for drinks and an appetizer, we duly presented our identification. Despite waiting for an extended period, our orders were not fulfilled. The waitress then informed us that she was certain that at least two of our IDs were counterfeit. We requested that our IDs be scanned to verify their authenticity, but the waitress and the bar manager declined, asserting their right to refuse service. We were subsequently instructed to vacate the bar area, with the threat of security escort if we did not comply. The manner in which this situation was handled was deeply disappointing and left much to be desired. I am genuinely appalled by the experience. It is troubling that the hotel does not utilize an ID scanner to verify the authenticity of identification. The accusations made against us have a disturbing undertone of racial profiling. When we requested that the police be called to confirm the validity of our IDs, the bar manager again refused, citing their right to refuse service. He claimed that returning our IDs was an act to protect us from potential legal issues. The treatment we received from the bar manager and the waitress was truly appalling and unacceptable. This incident has cast a long shadow over our perception of the hotel and its commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all its patrons.
If you like your hotel room to be cool in temperature, find another place to stay. Per the maintenance person, the thermostat is controlled by the hotel. The fan won't run unless the a/c is on and then the entire system shuts down overnight due to the motion sensor. Room gets super stuffy at night and it's impossible to lower the temp. The hotel may save a few bucks on their electric bill but I'll be booking somewhere else the next time! Just let the customer control the temp!!
St Kate is amazing!! The hotel is beautiful but the staff goes above and beyond. I got married at a different venue and my mother‘s and my now husband‘s cars were both stolen with all of our luggage and my purse. It was a very stressful situation to say the least. The staff at Saint Kate made all the difference with their empathetic and positive attitudes. They saved my Wedding day and made all the difference. They ensured we had everything we needed, and checked on us to make sure that we were ok. I have never had such a positive experience from a hotel. I can’t say enough how thankful I am I stayed with them. I plan to stay there every anniversary from here on out. Thank you! I appreciate the wonderful experience you have given me!!
Great hotel! Love the art vibe… great bar with live music!
Beautiful in everyway possible. A+ to all employees. Excellent staff. Delicious food and drinks were served during a recent shower that I attended. Will definitely be recommending to others as well as for my next occasion!

Very cool.
Worth finding this place, and better yet, figuring out when they are having events currently. Check the website and enjoy!
What a great dining experience! This restaurant is hidden away at Saint Kate, but it's worth finding. We went before a show at the Marcus Center. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable.
Elegant experience with fine dining and the absolute best service with delicious food. Nothing else like it in Milwaukee. They also nicely accommodated when we had only an hour before going to a show at the Marcus.

Such a nice night out with my husband. Can't wait to go again once we can be normal again. The waiter was nice and extremely professional. The only thing is that there's too much noise from the other side of the curtain.
This place is hidden on the second floor but is a great place for dinner. Dark and quiet, high level of service from the wait staff. Grass fed NY Strip was tender, tasty and cooked perfectly. One of the best steaks I’ve had. Cool lighted Menus, no need to use your iPhone light here. Great meal
I am finally writing this review, with the perspective of a pandemic and no in house dining. This was one of our last meals in a restaurant before the lockdown. The venue is hidden behind a bookcase, room dark, and quiet making great ambiance for conversation. The food was average with a very limited menu. We had the Amish chicken and sweet corn ravioli. We also had the root vegetable gratin which was quite terrible (vegetables way undercooked and quite salty). There was a lack of current wine inventory which made our drink order take some time. What was off was the service. At first, we did not realize the man who approached our table was our server. It was a very different interaction. Had he come back to check to see how everything was I would have sent back the gratin. I hope that they are surviving this tough time for the food industry. I would give them another chance due to the ambiance.
