Best place for beers at state fair. It's where all the REALLY good looking people stop for one.

Fantastic beer selectionVery reasonable price for State Fair

Best place to get Wisconsin craft beer at State Fair park. Huge selection of beers and if you kill the keg you get a shirt. Lots of ceiling fans which was plus this year.

This is the biggest rip off. Paid $25 for a drive-thru light show that lasted 9 minutes tops. Displays were knocked over and there was some that didn't even work. One's that were supposed to blink along with the music, didn't do it. Do not go here. Go somewhere else.

The Wisconsin State Fair is a good place to get drunk, eat cream puffs, listen to music and walk around, in any order. It's a lot less dumpy than what I remember as a child, so that's nice. (Usually it goes the other way, and the streets of nostalgia are paved with gold!) It's similar to the Minnesota State Fair with some differences: + More beer, less food. No falafel, sadly. + Much more contained, not sprawling, but still a fair amount of walking + Less dusty and dirty + Fewer shops and less junk + More music and relaxation, centered around beer tents + Cream puffs are the big, overpriced dealio and they're good, rather than Sweet Martha's cookies I had a good time this year!
I really try to get to State Fair more than one time a year. We are close so sometimes we go just for dinner and music. There are too many things to see and way too many tasty things to try to eat. You can spend time listening to youth groups, finding out about farming, or chatting with an exhibitor about their products. Don't feel like it has to be a full day. Go for a cheap pancake breakfast, leave and come back later to see an artist play or try your hand at games. Have a seat in the Colosseum and watch judging for a shaded break. Shop for unique hand made gifts, or indulge in some fudge. It's always a great time rain or shine.
