It’s my birthday weekend, so of course I had to treat myself... and The National Cafe never disappoints 💎✨

This place will always be one of my favorite hidden gems in the city. I’ve been doing more DoorDash lately, so it felt so good to stop in and enjoy brunch in person. The vibe is cozy, the staff is always warm and accommodating with my dietary needs, and the food? A whole vibe.

The Vegan Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich and French Toast were both chef’s kiss 👌🏾, and that mimosa? The perfect birthday touch 🥂💜

If you know, you know... The National Cafe always hits.
And since I’m in the Top 20% of Google Reviewers in the area, you can definitely trust me on this one ✨

Loved it, food was freshly made, hot, nicely seasoned and worth waiting for. My only Gripe is ordering off a QR code, some people aren't tech savvy and tbh, it seems a bit impersonal, love to have face to face interaction.

Great place for breakfast with plenty of vegan options

Great place for a late breakfast. Sat in a table in the front window and enjoyed some fabulous people-watching.

The Hot Mess is perfectly named, lots of potatoes, covered in an egg, hearty dosing of paprika and hollandaise.

Highly recommend.

Came here for brunch. You have to order and pay online from a QR code at your table. We put our fried egg preferences (hard yolks) in the 'special instructions' area on the ordering website, as no one bothered to talk to us in person. After ordering and paying, a staffperson told us they were out of the beverage we wanted. So we asked for water instead. The food was brought out, and they messed up the special instructions, giving us scrambled eggs instead. The bacon was overcooked. After leaving we realized they probably never credited us for the missing beverage, as we never got an amended credit card receipt after our initial order. But we can't prove it since the receipt wasn't itemized.

Just passing through on our way home to Ohio and decided to stop for breakfast. The staff was so wonderful, as was the food. Everything was fast and delicious. It was clear that this is a labor of love. Some excellent vegan options. Would recommend to anyone.

Good selection of food and wide variety of vegan options. As a sister café to The Lafayette Place, you can get similar meals that used to be available at their all vegan establishment. The space itself is cute and the employees are friendly.

One of my favorite places in Milwaukee. Their food and atmosphere (including the back garden!) are always fantastic, and they also do a great job with catering.

Lots of vegan options! Easy ordering by QR code by table. Not the quickest service so plan accordingly.
