On a recent short weekend trip to Milwaukee with my husband, we were staying at this Kimpton hotel and got to enjoy their wonderful rooftop bar, The Outsider.
We were actually given two complementary drink beverages from the hotel staff for a reservation mixup which was appreciated and we took advantage of.
It was a very cold Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of snow both on the ground and coming down. But the view could not be beat and the roaring fire definitely kept the covered patio space plenty warm.
Our server was extremely kind and attentive. We had eaten a big lunch so we did not partake in any food but both of the cocktails we ordered were delicious. I ordered a tiramisu-inspired coffee cocktail while my husband ordered a pumpkin inspired old-fashioned. The drinks were strong and one was plenty to enjoy before an evening out.

The Outsider was our choice due to the roof top option in a controlled environment. Only went in for an afternoon drink. Nice views, fire pits, and atmosphere. A bit loud for me. Sorry for the one picture of the area. I did not want to post an photos with customers in them. Overall the location and atmosphere were great. I would go back.

I waited about 20 minutes for them to take my order and 1 hour for an espresso martini that they still haven’t served me, nice place.
Wonderful place to go out! The drinks are expensive but they are worth it. High quality ingredients brewed skillfully. The fries are to die for. If you don't like crowds, go during a weekday at around 9.

Emma is literally the world’s best bartender. She said she was a bartender for 5 days, I would NOT have known it. I asked her to make the dirtiest, filthiest martini with Kettle One vodka and the olives they have (that are made with dill pickles, green olives, and tomatoes, mind you), and it was the best dirty martini I’ve ever had in my 30 years existence. Their tomatini is sensational also!!! ASK FOR EMMA!!!

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff who make amazing cocktails. Especially Laura who does a phenomenal job and can make amazingly fun delicious drinks and brings a lot of friendliness and fire behind the bar!!! The fall menu is a hit with their Cruel Intentions and Genie in a Jam. The sandman while delicious felt like it was missing a charcuterie board to really round it out!! Dark horse try the tomatini while it's still on the menu!!
