Terrible service We arrived and we were told to sit where ever we would like as there were no other customers in the restaurant. Being the only people in the place we still waited over 10 minutes for our server to greet us. That was just the start. Our server the "Bar Manager" should stick to bartending. We ordered the calamari and that was fantastic and came out very fast. As we waited for our entrees to come out our server didn't leave us alone, rambling on and on about this or that. He must have told us that he and his partner run the restaurant about 6 times. My partner and I went there for our anniversary to spend time with each other, not our server. When it was time for our food to come out our server ran into a wall and dropped the walleye that I ordered on the floor, so he had it remade for me but still brought out my partners food while I waited for mine to come out. While waiting for my food to come out our server insisted on buying us shots to make up for dropping the food. I am a recovering alcoholic and we told him that. I found this very offensive as he kept asking to buy us shots. That's when I realized he was most likely drunk. To top off the experience our server brought us THE WRONG CHECK. He insisted that the computer was messed up. The bill had nothing that we ordered on it at all. I paid the bill that he gave us just so we could get out of there as quick as possible. I will be calling today to talk to someone who is sober to get a refund or just pay for what I ordered. After talking to management they did nothing and told me I was wrong.

I ordered the carbonara on March 14. I have only complained about pasta carbonara area once before and it was in California. The reason I gave a one star is because Aide the variety of substitutions and additions a customer can order. I did think the price was a little high, but a fantastic dish should charge for quality and taste. First, the portion was about 25% less than what I expected. Again, I was looking at quality and taste. Second, was too heavily salted and peppered. Third, too much alfredo sauce. Too much alfredo sauce and too much ground pepper did not allow me to taste the other ingredients. For the price I paid, I would aside salad or slices of bread should have been included. Some bread might have absorbed some of the alfredo sauce. If, and that is a big, "if", I ordered this again, I would ask how many ounces of pasta is in the order, get alfredo sauce on the side and ask for very little salt and pepper on the side.

I have been in the Limousine Business for many years, and one of my regular clients was the legendary Tony Bennett, He loved eating at the Past Tree, and commented on how it was just like home.

Honestly all of it was fabulous ? the food, the service, the atmosphere... We had Matthew as our server, so kind, humorous, and accommodating. I really felt welcomed and at home. We had the "Happily Ever After" to end the night and OMG. If you have a sweet tooth and LOVE homemade whip cream, this is the boozy dessert beverage for you! The mouth feel is full and luxurious to start and as you make your way down the glass the essence of the beverage kicks in! What a treat! My lover and I live close so we have been looking at Pasta Tree for a while to eat and I'm happy we finally popped in! We can't wait to go back! We already have our next meal picked!

We found this place as a great location near Shank Hall and it was a great find. I'm not sure why the rating are so low. Great staff that seated us right away and gave us great attention. The view from our table into the Milwaukee Street was very quaint and colorful. The recommended Chianti was excellent. My wife had the Carbonara while I had one of the Scallop dishes. Both were excellent and I look forward to coming back and exploring more of the menu.

2024 update: Used to love this place but this time our service was extremely lacking. Never got asked if we'd like a drink with our meal as we had finished ours while eating our salad and waiting for our entrees. The dining room was clearing out so it was not as busy as it was while we waited for our table. There was nowhere to wait with the multiple other people waiting. The wait staff was rightfully extremely annoyed by this, but could have been more polite while navigating around the cluster of waiting customers. The air conditioner was leaking on my wife on her birthday. The hostess did kindly relocate us when I notified her of the issue.

I fell in love with The Pasta Tree the first time I was there some 30+ years ago. Current owner, Chef Suzzette, does not disappoint! The Pasta Tree remains one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee all these years later. My husband and I had dinner with a friend at The Pasta Tree last night. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, as is the entire staff. Our server was excellent. We started off with a bottle of wine and ordered salads. My husband and friend had Caesar salads and I had the wedge salad, which was one of the specials last night. What a fresh take on the wedge, with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. It was perfect! My husband ordered the lasagna and I couldn't stop myself from leaning over and taking bites of his meal - it was that great! Our friend and I both ordered the pesto linguini. It's long been one of my favorite dishes at The Pasta Tree, and once again, it was delicious. If you've never been to the Pasta Tree, you are missing out. If you haven't been in a while, put it on your list of places to go. If it's not obvious, I highly recommend The Pasta Tree Restaurant & Wine Bar.

My girlfriend placed a reservation here for Valentine's Day. When we got there and told the hostess our time we reserved she proceeded to say that there were no tables available and that we can go back to our car and wait for a table to open up... they ended up calling us after half an hour of waiting in the car. Which left us trying to find somewhere else to go without reservations on one of the busiest nights needless to say I'd give zero stars if I could.

Ordered the Gorgonzola Alfredo on uber eats. Took about an hour. Pasta was barely warm and all stuck together. It’s one thing for the food to take long to get delivered and be cold but the Sauce was salty and way too thick. Pasta seemed over cooked as well. I feel like if it was hot it would’ve still been nasty.

I came up to MKE from Austin for a work trip, and I came to this restaurant on a recommendation from a colleague. Let me preface my review by saying two things: 1) I am a picky eater 2) I had a heavy lunch and a long day, so I was slightly more interested in having a few drinks than food. If I had reviewed the menu prior to going, I probably would have picked a different restaurant. Fortuitously, that did not happen. The staff were very friendly. I sat at the bar because I was dining solo and I didn't want to take up a table, so I didn't have any wait time at all. While they didn't have a negroni on the menu, I saw that they had the constituent ingredients to make one, so I asked if they could, and they were more than happy to accommodate. Now onto the food. The server was so nice in bearing with my questions about different dishes. I ended up ordering the carpaccio paired with a nice red wine based on the suggestion of the bartender/server as well as the caprese. Both dishes were delicious.I declined desert since I am not a sweets person, but I did take my server up on the offer of a digestif, and went with the Fernet Branca because it is something that I haven't seen stocked in a bar since I moved from California.Highlights: Friendly and accommodating staff, great food and drinks, cute atmosphere (would be a nice date spot)Complaints: Just one - I found the restaurant to be a little cold, but this was likely due to me not being acclimated to traversing the frozen North.Bottom Line: If I return to MKE in the future I would definitely try this place again, except venture more outside of my comfort zone. Would definitely recommend. I am terrible with names, but if the ginger bartender reads this, thank you for providing a great experience.P.S. - While paying my check my server mentioned that they do brunch on Sundays. I looked at the brunch menu, and it looked fantastic, so I absolutely would have gone for brunch if my travel schedule had permitted.
