The food was terrible - how can you screw up a BLT (my friend got one too and had to send it back - it was so burned that it was black)? The salads were awful. Service was ridiculously bad . . . Seriously, just don't go here.

Apps were good. Mains were underwhelming. Service was slow even though we were literally the one group there:(.

The “Christmas” menu was terrible... the cod and chicken looked the same and were dried out and the prime rib abysmal for the price. Our waitress tried to get some gravy/au jus but they sold out?? I think if you want a burger and fries you'd be fine but stick to bar food and not entrees.

In a lobby of a hotel where breakfast is served. Food was at best mediocre, and super slow. After having to ask the server why we found out that only one of the three cooked showed up to work. We had a show to go to so cancelled the entree. Rating is way over-=rated.

I ordered up room service. I wished I had gone elsewhere. It was just mediocre. Would rather spend that kind of money and enjoy the eats!

Excellent food with unique options. Good location for pre-Pabst dining. Bacon Bao Buns are spectacular.

About almost 40 minutes after placing order I asked our server if the food was soon to come as we had a show to attend. It was revealed that they hadn't started our dishes yet because there was only one cook. There wasn't any item in the menu that they could quickly bring either. We had to leave and look for a fast food options nearby. Maybe they shouldn't have taken our reservation when they didn't have capacity to serve within reasonable and customary time frame.

We just had a great meal at The Social American Tavern tonight. We were walking around for Doors Open MKE and needed a place to eat. We started with the brussel sprouts and they were THE BEST I have ever had. Our sandwiches Wild Mushroom Dip and Cubano were delicious; balanced flavors and tasty bread.

On top of great food, the service was excellent. Selena was our server. She was delightful and went the extra mile. Get this: my mum forgot her sunglasses at the table, and when I walked back into the restaurant 15 minutes later to ask about the glasses, Selena already had found the case and had them ready for me to pickup. FIVE STARS!!

My first night in Milwaukee, I found The Social American Tavern and it was amazing! Selena was my server and she was very friendly. I ordered the bacon and brussels to start and it was very good, but the star of the meal was the Downtown Salmon. The fish was moist and flaky with a wonderful crunchy top, easily the best fish I’ve had! The quinoa and couscous risotto was delicious with a side of asparagus. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to going back!

The food was ok, drinks were pretty good. Yet, our waitress was phenomenal! She really made it a great experience unlike anyone else working there. We left her a much larger tip then 20% and she deserved every bit of it! We were there on business but probably would not go back next time we are in town.

This tavern located in the Hilton Garden Inn in Milwaukee is a neighborhood gem. We arrived in the city after a long day of driving and were pleased to see we could walk to this restaurant, thereby leaving our car in the garage. It was quiet, with good & friendly service, delicious offerings, reasonable priced menu and a pleasant atmosphere.

Short staffed and food took a long time. We had to take it to go in order to get to the PAC on time.

I enjoyed the ambiance at the Social Tavern. Comfortable decor. Plenty of space between tables. The service and food were excellent. The brat-stickers and Bao Buns were very tasty!
