Walked in somebody sat at the bar after that nobody said anything else to me didn’t even acknowledge I was sitting there no hello didn’t give me a menu or anything. Bar tenders chilled laughing with customers and said nothing to me. Not sure if it was a race thing but everybody else was being serviced why not me.?

This place has the best Currywurst I have ever had in my life. Been to Germany more than a dozen times, and this stuff was better than any I ever had over there. Drinks are potent and good and the vibe is awesome. Best of Bay View… hands down

wish they had a gender neutral restroom, otherwise one of my go-to local spots. excellent excellent food, great cocktails, all the staple beers. staff are all very good at what they do.

Cool, chill spot with an interesting selection of sausages available. Stuck with a classic jalapeño cheddar with a side of fried curds which you really can't go wrong with. 5 stars for having American Gladiators on TV.

Service is too slow and you have to wait for 30 minutes for the food to be ready.
But food is very delicious and pricey for the portion size. Highly recommend it. Definitely check it out.

I thought the food was pretty tasty, and the (Pittsburgh) burger worked surprisingly well. The gravy for the poutine was a bit watery and didn't pack the umami/savory richness I was hoping for, but overall not bad at all - very recommendable!
Service was more disappointing in that it was very disorganized - despite multiple people seemingly acting as our server, service was slow and infrequent. They didn't appear particularly busy, so it was confusing as to why they set things up the way they did. (It certainly didn't result in better or more coherent service.)
Otherwise, the atmosphere was just fine and the music being played was great. I think Vanguard is definitely worth a try at least once, and many people have (and will) enjoy what is offered here. Beyond that, at least for me, once was probably enough.
