We were the only table being served and service was horrible. Sweet plantains were covered in mayo.
Wings and fries served cold.

Appetizer came after the food.

Everything was not good, from the food to the service.

The bill took 20 mins after repeatedly asking. Our total was over $185.

The food was not what our group was expecting. It was much smaller and overall limited compared to pictures from previous reviews, descriptions in reviews, and menu pictures (some of which were accurate). Our food was delicious and well prepared, though just average. Our server was friendly and did wonderful job trying to manage a small crowd alone and could have used another person to help make the experience better. For a Saturday night at prime time for dinner, this place was dead. The decor was competing and there was not a clear theme.

Overall, we had a nice time, just not what we're expecting or something we'd choose again for a rare night out. It was promising based on the reviews ✔️, smooth reservation process ✔️, few cute seating options ✔️ though lacking in menu options, atmosphere, and needed another person.

Tuna tostada came with canned tuna, not raw/fresh as pictured. Beans came out cold on plate, drink came out warm. Plenty of better places with similar menus within a few blocks. Too bad, as back patio is a nice space.

Wow. Lomo Saltado was one of the best things I've ever eaten at a Latin food restaurant. The broth flavor was was savory magic and not overly salty and the vegetables were perfectly cooked - not liquefied. The delicate green crema the serve with it with had me guessing how they made it and eating it with a spoon at the end. Caught me off guard when they asked how I'd like the steak cooked, because I'd seen a picture of it and the steak is cut up, but I said medium rare anyway and it came out melt in your mouth tender and complimented perfectly by that gently spiced broth. Rice is usually flyover territory for me, but I ate half of it because it was cooked so perfectly and had a light citric taste that made me keep coming back.

Wife got the Quesadilla Frita and the corn tortilla it comes in tastes like someone's abuella made it from scratch 5 minutes ago. Amazing fresh corn flavor and they picked cheeses that weren't overly salty, which let the flavors of the veggies she got in it come through. It was very good also.

Tamarind mojito is one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Not too sweet, hint of mint, and smelled amazing. Wife got a margarita and loved that it wasn't doused in syrup. Had a light floral flavor that made you want to keep sipping it.

Guacamole was one of the best I've had at a restaurant, too. Great even small-chopped texture and excellent balance of garlic and lime.

It was all so good and perfect atmosphere for a conversational dinner in an eclectic artsy environment. Tables are out well and didn't need to shout hear each other.

Loved it. Will be back to try everything else.

Food was fresh and delicious, service was great, our water was checking constantly to make sure that we have everything. The wait time for food was short and prices were awesome. The music in the background was perfect, not too loud so you can have a conversation with your friends. Five stars for service, professionalism and great food and margaritas!

I decided to celebrate my birthday at Tulum. The location is convenient and parking is available on the street. I contacted the venue through Facebook to make the reservation for approximately 15 people and what I liked the most was they reached out right away to place my reservation. There’s no host/hostess so we sat right away and I noticed the table was set up for my party and next to us was another group. The place looked empty at 7:00 on a Snowy Friday night, but that changed in the course of one hour. All my party was complete and our only server did a great job placing our drinks and food even though they all showed upst different times.I ordered the Molcajete because it stood out from the menu and it didn’t disappoint. It was a massive amount of different meats served with rice, beans, and pico de gallo that my sister and I couldn’t eat half of it after eating tortilla chips and salsa. We drank Happy Hour traditional margaritas and I continued ordering the blended mango margarita. I really liked that one, however it is messy due the chamoy. From the start of our night our server asked us how would the table be splitting the bill. That helped to avoid confusion when paying.Everyone ordered different things from the menu and all seemed very pleased with the quality, timing, service, and the restaurant’s atmosphere.Between 9:00-9:30 the restaurant switched to a night club by turning off the lights and changing the music. I noticed the music genres were shuffling between Traditional Mexican music to Salsa and Bachata.Overall, I had a great experience. I was very pleased with the service and food. I would definitely recommend for parties and/or celebrations. The restaurant brought a lemon filled cupcake with a sparkling candle. It was so cute and dessert was pretty good.

Parking: On Kinnickinnic street parking is free past 6:00 pm on Friday.

Wheelchair accessibility: There’s one step at the front door and door needs to be held to keep it open. Bathroom is big enough for a wheelchair. Sink might be too small and far to reach.

My husband and I enjoyed our drinks and dinner at Tulum Latin Gastropub. Great service, the owner Miguel is very friendly and it has a fun atmosphere with good music. The passionfruit mojito and mangonata were excellent. We shared the Brocheta De pan con Chicharrón & Molcajete Estilo Mexicano - so tasty and unique. The food was muy rico!
