Veggas Pub is my favorite bar in RiverWest. A lot of the usual patrons and staff have become good friends to me. And as an openly queer person, I feel safe and comfortable here. This is a safe space and for anyone LGBTQ+.

Got some attitude from the bartender for spending money on the touch tunes? Apparently their friends were waiting on a song and we skipped them. No idea how we were supposed to know that. And then, for the rest of the night, whenever a song came on they didn't like, the bartender would look across the bar at us and complain about it. We didn't play those songs, bud 😂
I only live a few blocks away, but every time I come here it's a crap shoot whether it will be a good time or just uncomfortable.

Imagine if the show Cheers were set in modern day Milwaukee and, instead of being a basement sports bar, it was an above ground punkish dive. That's Veggas Pub, or friendly neighborhood corner bar. Friendly staff (as long as you don't cross them), great deals, welcoming atmosphere, community minded, and very dog friendly as long as your dog is friendly!
