Great time having a few small plates. The flavors were well balanced, loved the pan seared walleye. Don’t be afraid to try the wines that might be outside of your normal comfort zone if you’re not into the whole beer scene.

It’s a crime, and a blessing for some shy customers, that this place is a 4.3 (November 1st ‘25). Competition or bad actors filed scam 1 star reviews against it. But, instead of buying fake ones (like many restaurants), they let the experience talk. Their happy hour is one of the best deals in the city — the chicken and rice is clean, tasteful soul food, and with a discounted cocktail, you’re walking out of here feeling great. Not to mention spending less than you would at many of the local seed oil factories (sometimes called restaurants) that will charge you, somehow, even more.

Wayfinder is a great time and great food. I hope they stick around.

The Wayfinder was everything and more! From the moment we walked in, the energy, the décor, and the staff made it such a vibe. Joan and Mike were absolute gems — so warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they’ve created. The space is stunning, cozy yet elevated, and the rooftop felt like stepping right into a little slice of Hawaii 🌺 (you already know that made my heart happy).

Let’s talk food — the Dawn’s Cornbread with Honey Butter was to die for 🤤 and the cocktails were perfection. Every detail, from the menu to the music, just flowed. It’s rare to find a place that feels both elevated and down-to-earth, but The Wayfinder nailed it.

Whether you’re looking for date night vibes, girls’ night out, or a relaxed dinner with amazing food and drinks, this is the spot. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Beautiful space with a lovely bar. Cocktails are good and plenty of beers on tap. Everything was great start to finish, except the food. Very lackluster. Dry bread and poorly cooked dessert. I hope they make some adjustments to the menu.

I would go back for drinks and apps though.

Typically I stay away from the East side during the evening rush but I’m glad I decided to weather it to experience the incredible Happy Hr here! Me and my friend both ordered nearly the entire happy hr menu with the Burger w/fries, Pork Belly with a delicious salad under it, Fried Dill Pickles and the Filipino wings. I would say the burger, pork belly and fried pickles were def 10/10 dishes and the wings were a modest 7/10 due to lacking seasoning. Overall service was great and the atmosphere is very ambient!

S/N: Yall troll reviewers are very strange, I didn't witness or observe any presence of rats in the parking lot or around the building.

It smells like something died over here near this restaurant. I saw a rat running from their back door carrying some scrap of food from this place just the other day! Do NOT eat here, they have a rat infestation!

**I am editing this to say that apparently there was a DJ/cigar- themed event going on when I stopped by, which I was unaware of. I'm all for diversity and inclusion, so I am changing my rating. Thank you to Wayfinder, who replied promptly with an explanation! <3

I was so excited to check out the rooftop after seeing some info about it on Instagram! But there was so much cigar smoke I literally couldn’t stay up there for more than 5 minutes before moving downstairs. Plus, a DJ playing music that did not seem to match the tropical vibe they tried to have going on. My friend and I ended up moving downstairs. My drink was good, and our food was okay. I would not recommend the rooftop unless you are a smoker, just not my vibe at all.

Downstairs is very nice, very large bar and a lot of seating. Upstairs patio is ok. Tiki statues and totems are the decor. Tiki drinks are ok, a bit sweet. It’s new so maybe the service will improve with a bit of practice.
