This was superb American cuisine! More than your average bar food with wonderful service and atmosphere. Taxidermy is present for your viewing pleasure in one of two dining areas.
If you look close enough there is a guy who brings a new date in every week, very friendly and really makes the bar come alive.

This was not my first experience at Hammerdown, I always loved going there, but this experience was very different than what I usually got. It was so cold in there, my feet were numb, we had to put our jackets back on and the food cooled down way to fast. I ordered an old fashioned, that I thought was a bit more expensive than other places, at $9.50, and they were out of mushrooms so I didn't get anything in my drink. They raised the price of the chicken dinner a dollar, understandable, but the fries and wedges were burnt. The chicken was good as usual, but the cold really was the worst part.
