Tip of the cap to Mark & staff for having a dark, cozy, and worthwhile place in Mount Horeb with high quality ingredients while paying attention to detail on food & drinks. A pleasure to have in the neighborhood!

Everytime we eat here our food is perfectly prepared and with such great favors. Great gem of a restaurant!

Beautiful restaurant, has a lovely ambiance to it. Appetizer portions are large. Multiple entree dishes are overpriced. Highly recommend the bistro salad. The waiter was very disconnected and had more of a clinical side than a personal one when interacting with us. The crème brûlée was eggy, did not have much flavor, and did not have a good thick caramelization on top.Vegetarian options: There are salads, seasonal risotto, and a delicious bread and herb butter appetizer.

Absolutely the highlight of the weekend. Kind of interesting ambience of higher end and small tow, with a bit of a tavern-ish feel, I had read about Chef Michael and had to give it a try. Phenomonal. And, with superior service (Renee, I believe), and a mixologist equal to anything I've experienced in the biggest of cities and best restaurante (Kaylin, or similar, I believe), it was a delightful experience. The steak and shrimp risotto were even better than expected. The old fashioned with a hint of stronger cinnamon- stupendous.

The essence of great dining is the food, and the quality & inventiveness of the menu was great! What really sets a restaurant apart is the service & ambiance, & Bistro 101 delivers on all counts! We felt welcomed & the wait staff was professional & personable. The entire experience was very special! Bistro 101 is a gem!

Excellent food and a great, non-pretentious atmosphere. The chef, Mark, even came out and chatted with us for awhile. Highly recommend.

Everything was delicious! I heard so much around town about the Mushroom Bisque soup. It was hands down the best Mushroom Bisque I’ve ever had! We also indulged in the Scallops, Korean BBQ Sticky Ribs, the Artichoke Dip (also the best I’ve ever had!), and the Salmon entree. Everything exceeded expectations and we will definitely be back!

I really enjoy the ambiance and the food at the Bistro it's great! However over the last year my experience at the bar has been horrendous! There is one particular bartender that is always there. She is so condescending, rude and honestly a bully! It really makes me think whether or not I want to go on there and have my night ruined. I'm not sure how she gets away with that type of behavior. I've been in there with friends and we are just baffled by her treatment of the patrons. I hope you read this and take some action as new upscale restaurants are coming into town, providing other options. As mentioned I enjoy the vibe immensely but she makes the experience horrible!

It’s been a while since we’ve had the pleasure of dining at Bistro 101, and it’s every bit as good as we remembered. Chef Mark first impressed us more than a decade ago when he ran Morels. Knowing who he is and how he cooks makes it worth the 40 minute drive from our house.Everything from the escargots, to the bone marrow, to the extensive bourbon selection, to the menu in general was sublime. There we seven of us, and each of us walked away feeling like we each got the best meal on the menu. The service is great, the ambiance is welcoming. We have an abundance of great dining options very near our house. Bistro 101 is worth the drive.

This restaurant is simply outstanding. I had the bacon wrapped date appetizer and the tenderloin entree. The dates were excellent and the steak was one of the best I have ever enjoyed. My friends had the Wagyu steak and sirloin and each of them also raved that their steak was as good or better than any they had ever been served elsewhere. Several of us had a sampling of creme brulee for desert (you can mix & match several small ramekins of vanilla, chocolate, or hazelnut flavors). Our drinks were also well made and generous. If you love a top shelf steakhouse along with a cozy and intimate atmosphere, you will love Bistro 101.
