We had terrible service. We ordered an appetizer (nachos ) with our drinks and 20 minutes later we were told that they were out of nachos. And we ordered pizza on a Sunday at 5pm and they said they said they couldn’t make pizza after 5pm on a Sunday even though the menu said 8pm. I ordered a southwest quinoa bowl and they didn’t the ingredients to make it. I have worked on the industry long enough to know what’s acceptable and what is bad management and service. This is my 2nd time eating here and it is not worth the stop. Beer is ok. Diacetyl was in their red ale. Hazy IPA was oxidized. I am a certified taste tester for Boston Beer Company, and this beer was very mediocre. Very disappointing

What a cool place to eat. The food and service were fantastic. Mara is great. We love to explore small towns. Youtube channel majesticmilestravel go there and subscribe. I would highly recommend this place.

I hadn't been here in probably 10ish years. Not as good as I remembered. The grumpy troll burger wasn't good, the fries meh and the beer cheese soup was fair to good. The flavors just weren't there. Food came fast and the waitress was good. The food needs work....

The Grumpy Troll in Mount Horeb is a must-visit. Don't let the name fool you—it's a gem! The handcrafted beers are outstanding, and the pub fare is elevated and delicious, and the Reuben is amazing. Food was delicious, I had the pork paradise quinoa bowl. It was a great choice for before the gym. I sat at the bar and talked to the bartender the whole time, he was very funny and attentive and even made me a mocktail upon request. I would definitely come again!

Zero stars. Warning: apparently you can’t just get a beer here! Went in to have a beer at 1:30 in the afternoon. We were seated at a table. We ordered our drinks and let our server know we weren’t getting food. After our drinks arrived, a manger (I assume ) came to our table and rudely told us that we had to leave the table because tables were only for customers ordering food. He also made some off handed comment about people waiting. The very rude manager then vaguely pointed to where we could sit outside. While it was busy, there was no wait. 1. Perhaps you shouldn’t call yourself a pub if you can’t just sit and drink beer. 2. Perhaps there should be signage saying such. 3. Treating paying customers poorly is just plain rude. He treated us like we had done something wrong. There was no assistance to show us a table outside. Given the way we were treated, I won’t be back! On a positive note, our server was very sweet and she came out and apologized. We did tip her well.

Grumpy Troll is one of our favorite places and luckily we can visit often since moving just outside MoHo. The food is always great...esp the french dip and tater tots. The hosts and servers are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Excellent customer service! Greeted when you walk in! We weren’t sure what we wanted to drink. Bartender was so attentive. Busy with the flea market but still on point. He asked what we normally drink and compared. Had us try samples. He was always moving. First time visiting and will be back. Thank you! Food was delicious also.
