Several months ago, my friend and I came in here to get sandwiches. My friend got chicken on his and I got a vegetarian sandwich. When we got home, I bit into mine and found chicken in it. i’ve been a vegetarian for 21 years and this was my first time ever eating meat since then. We drove back to the store and I planned on being polite because I know accidents happen, but the guy who made my sandwich saw us enter and started giggling. The manager seemed extremely embarrassed, but the employee giggling really ticked me off. I worked in food service when I was younger, and I can’t imagine handling a mistake like that by giggling in front of a customer.

Horrible service. 6 teenagers working behind the counter all at once and it still took me 25 minutes to get just a SMALL sandwich.

First I was ignored after entering. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. They took my order, I sat and waited for 20 minutes for a freaking $20 sandwich with only 2 other customers in the store....AND IT WAS WRONG! Unacceptable, will not be back. Btw, firehouse is nasty, that incorrect sandwich was beyond gross. It wouldn't have been good even if it were correct. Worst sub shop in the country. A spam on white would be better. Disgusting

Always have fantastic service here. The food is always good. I had the Jerk sandwich this visit. The freestyle machine is major for me as a T1D. Lots of sugar free options. Wish the loc part worked. My wife and I really like the ability to walk in either side of the establishment. Try the hot sauces. Try all of the hot sauces.

But online ordering VERY FREQUENTLY has the Racine store as unavailable. The phone app does the same thing. Does this AFTER you've entered your whole order.
SO maybe just try to call the place. NOPE. Nobody answers.
Complained to company on-line. Was told to order in-store for pick up. Why have the app then?
Maybe I do not want to stand around in a store for 20 minutes. Maybe hire website builder 101 to fix your app?

8/29/25 We ordered food at around 7 PM. App worked :)

Walking in to pick up the order I noticed the floor looked like it had not been swept all shift.

None of the bread was toasted which made the sandwiches a mushy mess.

I got the steamer which is what I always get. The meat had a LARGE amount of fat on it. It was difficult to eat due to the above mentioning of the bread not being toasted. The sandwich was cut all the way through and the bread and meat just slid around independent of each other.

I googled to see if a heated sandwich at firehouse sub should have toasted bread and google said yes. I didn't want to complain to this extent if I was at fault.

Unfortunately we will never be back to the Racine firehouse sub restaurant. This was our fast food of choice, well my wife's fast food of choice because she needs the gluten free bread.

I tried. I really tried.

The food was good, but last time I was there, I was made the worst sandwich i ever had,couldn't finish it because it because of being so soggy, and the workers disappeared in the back,when I wanted to talk to them!

Rude second time I have been in and told they have to close early on a Saturday at 6pm. No more $$ being spent here

We came in at 8:20 and were greeted by a young kid who stated they were closed. The lights and open sign were off. My wife said the sign said 9:00 PM and then he said they were closing. My wife asked for a manager and he said there was no manager. She asked again and he said they were not here so my wife said to call them. He started to double down and another worker exclaimed to just make the order with an attitude. All the staff were reluctant to take our order and were slamming together our food. The macaroni we ordered was cold and our food was clearly just half put together. The staff just had friends hanging around in the building with them and were grabbing drinks. I'd hate to be the owner here who's losing business over some lazy teenagers not wanting to work but get paid.

Ordered delivery off door dash and didn’t get two bags of chips. Tried calling in multiple times at 8:45 and no one answered. I was charged and didn’t receive the chips. No way to rectify at this point. Happy to change my rating if made whole. Food was good but would have been better with my two bags of chips.

Fast and Friendly service. Hook and Ladder combo with a bowl of Chili taste fantastic! Been here many times and will be here many more times! Thank you.
