We had supper at The Lure this evening! It was awesome. We had the fish fry, three cod loins plenty of tartar sauce, beans, choose of potatoes, coleslaw. Prices have been fairly adjusted. We will definitely be back.

It’s crazy to think but I’ve been visiting The Lure over 20 years now. It was always “good” but it’s been better than ever the last few visits. The new menu items are ? and the prices after insane inflation are very reasonable. 4.5 stars. The big pretzel ? even though it wasn’t on the menu yet was on point.

We visited the Lure Bar and Grill on March 19th at 4:30 pm for and early dinner. It was our first time here. Nice atmosphere and roomy with great views of Lake Petenwell. We were met by the manager, Dan, who was friendly, good conversationalist, and all around super nice guy. I ordered a Bloody Mary and being a self professed guru of Bloody Mary’s, I deem this an A+. We ordered the Chips and cheese for an appetizer, a bowl of chili, a Rueben sandwich, and the Cuban sandwich. The homemade chips were hot and huge. Very good compliment to the meal. My chili was some of the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. My wife’s Rueben was massive with a same amount of fries. She gave it a thumbs up. My Cuban sandwich with fries did not disappoint in flavor, size or tenderness. And to add, with these meals, you will not go away hungry. Hats off to Dan and his staff. We will definitely return and pass our likings on to our friends and neighbors.

Love what the new owners have done to the place. Ordered baked cod dinners to go. PLENTY of food! Very fresh and flaky. Plenty of different varieties of fish to order.

Great place to get a drink or have a great meal. Fish fry is excellent and the rest of the food is excellent, as well. Wait staff is personable and friendly.

Somewhere deep down in the depths of hell there is a special place for the owner of the Lure, maybe the saddest excuse for bar in the state of Wisconsin….A most infamous designation. We entered the gate of hell after a long day on the ice ready for some good food and drink. Little did we know what horrors awaited.Sitting down three of us ordered spotted cows and one asked if they had a IPA. The bartender confirmed he did and that he would recommend it… our friend was served a Non Alcoholic IPA. Really? The bartender was confused when our friend was not pleased, because as we found out the bartender thought all IPA’s were non alcoholic. Yeah.Next was the food. The “ ultimate” nachos should be renamed “Diarrhea dog S***” nachos as they where amalgamation of stale cardboard chips drenched in canned government cheese spread, expired sour cream, and somehow dry yet greasy ground beef chili that had obviously spent a week in the refrigerator dehydrating and absorbing all the sink from the other rotten foods. After being informed that they had neither bacon for bacon cheeseburgers nor prime ribs for their “famous” prime rib sandwich. Two of us settled on Italian beef sandwiches, one of us a Rueben and one of us chicken tenders. The “italian beefs” were rancid roast beef that had a mysteriously fishy smell with oregano spinkled on top served with soggy French fries. The beef had the pleasant aftertaste of industrial cleaning chemicals. The Rueben was looked and smelled like the bottom a garbage dumpster that had been sitting in the hot summer sun.The chickens tenders were one small chicken breast cut into 4 scrawny nugglettes. Quadruple battered to bulk them up they still looked like something that came off elementary school lunch tray. The devil does his dirty work on east side of lake Petenwell, WI.
