I visited 1848 Coffee Shop for the first time and wasn’t sure what to order, but the staff was incredibly helpful. They asked about my preferences and recommended the iced Santa Fe beverage — and wow, it did not disappoint! It was sweet, delicious, and had just the right amount of caffeine to help me power through the work tasks ahead.
The atmosphere was perfect — quiet enough to read and focus while I waited, and when my friend arrived, we stayed for a while because the seating was so comfortable. It ended up being more of a productive meeting space than just a casual coffee stop, which was exactly what we needed.
Great drinks, friendly service, and an ideal environment for both work and conversation. I’ll definitely be back!

I drive past this place on my way to my grandparents and have wanted to stop in, we found a perfect Saturday morning too. It kind of sticks out as there are houses and apartments all around, parking lots is a good size and there is a good amount of tables outside. Inside are more tables and a wall of bags of coffee for sale. Inside and outside are lots of seats but we were talking and wish they had some comfy chairs to sit in and chat.
The menu features a good amount of options for different coffee and tea drinks with various syrups and extras. There are a couple of seasonal type specials too. There is a small bakery case with treats from Beans n Cream in Madison, but there isn’t much food otherwise. A couple of Kind and Cliff Bars. There is a basket for food pantry donations as well and a local business bulletin board.
When we stopped in shortly after 8am on a Saturday morning there was a steady flow of people. The line moves pretty quick and our order was ready in a short amount of time. I got an iced chai latte and my husband got a London fog latte and a breakfast scone. The scone was alright, filled with classic breakfast flavors, but not our favorite. The staff were great in explaining where the bakery items come from and so friendly. I do wish they had some other food items available but for coffee/tea, it’s a great stop!
Overall a good coffee shop but I wouldn’t really stop in for more than that. I would stop again for a drink!

If I could give no stars I would. Very rude and not accommodating. Had family in town and they only let 4 people sit together. When asked they pretty much said nope “you can sit at separate tables” used to love this place won’t be back (and they don’t care)

Cute and eclectic coffee shop close to most major businesses. Plenty of parking, coffee choices, and seating (both indoor and outdoor). I ordered the London Fog with espresso, now a smog, and it was delicious! The lady attending the coffee bar was kind and charismatic, even asked if I would like a saucer for my coffee. Would definitely go here again.

Such a cozy spot. The workers are very friendly and on point. Their drinks are very good and tasty. They offer all types of syrups and flavoring. Bathrooms was clean. The outside patio is a good touch too!

For some reason the owner won't combine punch-cards. I guess he thinks strangers will willing give up their punched card so one person can get a free coffee? Oh please.
A nice little coffee shop in the beautiful city of New Berlin. Friendly staff. We had a regular dark roast coffee and an iced white mocha which were pretty good. It was a very nice day outside and we were able to sit and peacefully enjoy our conversation. Had such a pleasant experience that we would definitely come back. Thank you!

NO WIFI - I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt, I may even try it again. They guy was really nice and vibe was cute but my latte was expensive, barely taste the espresso, and syrup was bad. And on top of a bad drink (which I can accept, not all drinks are created equal), this place had no WIFI. You would've thought it was 2003 walking into there. I work from a lot of coffee shops and I don't think I have ever come across one that didn't have it. And on Google it says they have WIFI. So at the very least, change that

My man and I like to try new coffee shops around town, and this morning, we've decided on 1848 Coffee. It was quite busy. Ordered an iced Caramel Macchiato, and a Blueberry Muffin iced latte. Coffee is strong, but I like strong. There were two people behind the counter. The man behind the counter took our order, and was very nice! Put our coffees out with a smile. We didn't get any food, but will be back again to try different items on the menu!

I have been coming to 1848 for a quick coffee for awhile now and never had a problem but this past weekend. The dude behind the counter who I assume is the owner seemed so on edge when I walked in with a big group (7 people) to each buy a coffee. He came over and rudely told us to not come in with a big group again because that’s not what they cater to. Ok fair, I would understand that would be a problem as we were taking up 3 of the very small tables out of the 12 in there. But there was 2 other customers in the coffee shop each occupying one table. There was plenty of space for many other customers to come and get a coffee comfortably but no one was there. Personally I won’t be coming back as the owner could have handled that situation a little more professionally to say the least. Customers make or break your business and based on the multiple one star reviews talking about their negative experience with “the male behind the counter” I can see this has been an issue already. My suggestion is to buy your 7 dollar coffee elsewhere!
