Tucked away in the charming village of New Glarus lies a shop that feels like it exists slightly out of phase with reality—The Rusty Raven. Step through the door, and you’re no longer in Wisconsin... you’re somewhere between a haunted library, a Victorian curiosity cabinet, and a Poe poem brought to life.
The shelves whisper with oddities: books that seem to hum with forgotten stories, shirts stitched with delightful darkness (I took home one that read, “I myself am strange and unusual”), and relics that feel like they might just blink when you’re not looking.
And just when you think it can’t get any better—you discover the bar. Yes, there’s a bar in the back. Order a drink, and sip while the ravens watch from above. It’s the kind of place where you expect to hear a cryptic riddle from a stranger... and you hope you do.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jon the owner, yesterday in search of CBD oil for my dog. Being from out of town I was delighted when I walked into Jon’s unique shop. We chatted for a few minutes, shared photos of our dogs before I had to drive back to Madison to care for my dog. I came home and shared with my family how awesome his shop was and I promised him I’d be back to shop and have one of his beers on tap.

Rusty Raven is a bit whimsical yet showcases the dark side of humor and life. We enjoyed our time just meandering through the shop, 3 times, because we had to be sure not to miss anything. Jon was accommodating and super friendly. Sharing laughs and maybe a cocktail with us. Can't/Won't confirm.
