Sugar River Pizza Co. - New Glarus

Ordered a pizza for carryout. They said it would be ready at 6:10. Pizza finally came out at 6:40. I had a hungry 3 year old and a hungry one year old with me. I asked if we could eat the pizza in the restaurant since my kids were getting quite hungry and impatient. They would not allow us to eat in the restaurant because their wait staff might not make as much in tips. I politely expressed my displeasure, but they just said, "Sorry". They even had open tables. Unbelievable. Will not be eating here ever again, and will tell everyone I know about this experience.

This place was fantastic. What made it a greater experience was our amazing waitress Sierra. Friendly, professional, and efficient. The two pizzas the 4 of us shared on 9/06 along with apps were great. The apps were a little over the top with breading but the pizzas were definitely made by someone that knew what they were doing. Great pesto margarita pizza!!!

Giving them three stars because they do have quite a few menu options, including a couple that are gluten free. The scores are low because of a couple of issues:
1) I ordered a gluten free sandwich for my child. Not only did it come out burned, but the (same) server also walked over and plonked down a GLUTEN cookie next to the gluten-free sandwich I’d just ordered. If my child’s allergy had been severe, handing her a gluten cookie to go with her gluten-free meal could truly be dangerous. Plus, have you ever tried to take a cookie away from a child? I mentioned (very respectfully) to the server that a gluten free child can’t have a gluten cookie for safety reasons, and she didn’t apologize—she just blamed the kitchen and walked away. This didn’t make anything better (and I still had an upset child). 2) Both meals (hers, burned and the gluten issue; and mine, a pizza), made us feel icky afterwards. Flavor was not great; very processed and WAY too salty. We were hopeful but won’t be back. For the safety of others, I hope they learn to be sensitive to these topics (and burned sandwiches are never good, regardless). I wish them well.

As a person who has had a LOT of pizza, I'm always taken aback by just how good the pizza here is. Get the house blend cheese (I believe that's the default), then go with whatever crust you prefer. Delicious.

Only reason I dropped a star for atmosphere is that the indoor portions of the place have low ceilings, and more than once I've run into noisy tables that make it hard to even have a conversation with your own group (have even seen people ask to be moved outside as a result). However, the outside space is very nice, so when weather permits, it's a great option.

We had lunch at Sugar River Pizza Co. yesterday. The waitress was so nice and anticipated what we might need with young child. The lunch special was so reasonable and the salad and soup was delicious.

Great little place with a great atmosphere, better staff and even better food! Pizza is phenomenal! If you visit New Falrus Brewery beforehand and get a token for a free small beer at any local bar, they give you a full beer, not just a taste. Our waiter had a lot of tables and didn't miss a beat and was great with our kids. 1000% will be visiting again!

We are a construction crew. We ordered a pizza to go and changed our mind as we were on our way. We were hot and tired.
We intended to order beverages and tip again for occupying a table. We were stared at and made to wait what seemed an ignored amount of time. We were then informed that because we ordered carry out we were not allowed to sit at any of several open tables. And we should take our pizza and go.
Our company truck has an equality sticker on it. 2/3 of our guys carry purses. Not that it matters but none of us are queer so much as allies and purses are very handy.
I feel we were profiled and discriminated against blatantly.
I can not support Sugar River Pizza or there "general policies".

Everything thing I have tried has been delicious! They have good prices and I really appreciate that they have half sized salads! Super friendly too!
