My girlfriends and I always enjoy our nights out here :)
We thought we'd give it a try again after about 5 years and the food hasn't improved but the staff were very friendly. I really want this place to feel authentic but it's truly more of a grey, bland, midwestern, 'you find ketchup too hot', kind of place. Side note, the Fabuloso in the air is so strong you can taste it, so if you have issues with strong perufmes you'll struggle in this environment.
Margarita was made wrong 3 times in a row. I will not be going back.
Great little place tucked in a small strip mall. Definitely worth stopping by and grabbing a meal. Make sure to ask for the house hot sauce.
What a jewel.. traveling for work, and I stayed near and enjoyed a few great meals. Staff were friendly and food hot. I suggest getting the homemade salsa delicious but HOT.
Wed june 4 630p.our waiter was fun energetic a jokster n tended to our every need.there were 6 of us visiting my daughter who was vacationing in amery from illinois.plan to arrive hungry! THANKS SO MUCH!
Awesome food, large portions, good prices.
My husband and I travel a lot for work between Illinois and Wisconsin. This is easily one of the top 3 Mexican restaurants we have had the pleasure of having dinner. The food was cooked to perfection and fresh! The wait staff is fast, friendly and attentive. Thank you so much! You made our night.
I came to get takeout for myself and my family after returning from a trip 7 hours out of town. The restaurant was empty, aside from one other person getting some takeout as well. Coming in to the restaurant, no one was there to greet me until the other customer’s order was completed. There is a bell on the door- I would think for good reason. There was also an employee on their phone sitting in the back by the kitchen doors.
I was given a few minutes to look over the menu that I found when I came in the door. They had a newer person take my order along with the manager. This didn’t bother me at all- I was glad to see a newer person being assisted in placing an order.
My order came to about $40 for 4 items. I left a tip around $5, and I am not usually a person that leaves a tip just for a takeout order. I normally only tip if I eat at the restaurant and everything goes well.
The food came out within 10 minutes. Being there was no one in the place, I expected for everything to be in the bags. However, I drove home only to find one of my items missing. This usually doesn’t upset me, but there were a few factors that made me a little upset.
I drove back to the restaurant to get my 4th item. They forgot it- which I understand mistakes happen, but it was literally dead in there. There should be no reason for this to happen in a case like this.
The manager is now the person sitting on their phone by the kitchen area. I asked the worker that I would like to speak to the manager. The manager got up to address me at this point.
I expressed I was upset about part of my order being forgotten. I drove all the way back for one item. They did apologize, but I felt that I still needed to express why I was frustrated. You have employees on break in front of customers. They aren’t eating. Just sitting on their phone. I understand it was dead but you shouldn’t have a worker on their personal phone in front of customers. If the newer worker was the person bagging my order, as a manager you should be double checking. The fact I left a tip for a takeout order also is upsetting. Again, I never do this, and the time I do is when my order gets messed up.
Lastly the overall customer service needs improvement. You can clearly see the customer is upset. I was very calm in explaining my thoughts. The manager at the time asked, “would you like a refund?” I answered no. I have worked in customer service, and it is not on the customer to initiate what action needs to be taken. You as the business take action. Offer anything and express that the customer coming in means everything to you, and take some sort for action to correct the mistake. Little or big, an upset customer leads to word of mouth, Google reviews, or simply not returning at all.
If I walked out of the restaurant with something that made me feel appreciated I wouldn’t being taking my time to write this at all. Customer service is huge.
Things to fix:
Ensure everything the customer orders is included, especially when your restaurant is dead inside. Don’t sit on your phone in customer’s view. Food was also lukewarm and contained several bits of cheese in items that were specifically requested to have no cheese on them.
After acknowledging your mistake, take action and make it right rather than asking what the customer wants you to do. For example: offer a free gift card, invite them in for a meal on you, or just simply refund it without asking. This shows that you care more than passively asking if they want a refund.
If a customer returns due to a mistake on your part, always have the manager meet with them and deliver the corrected food personally.
Customer service is everything. Without it leads to a one-star review. I will likely be going to the other Mexican restaurants in town now. Just want to put my review for others to see. Thanks. Good luck.

We usually go to the Amery location and the food there is wonderful. We were disappointed with New Richmond. I don’t think I’d go back. Service was great tho. Perhaps food is better on busier days?

This is one of my favorite places to eat at when I visit my buddy, Usually I think earlier the better in my opinion before it gets too busy.
